I don’t think Lord Baltimore needs convincing. Town & City is very confusing in Spanish, as they refer to everything as Pueblo or Ciudad. I have it in my head (probably wrongly) that ciudad is more like a City & Pueblo, more like a town. So Burnley es un Pueblo lleno de Brujas, y mierda, will have to do.

A better translation than mine, (Spanish is my second language) but I thought I had better reply quickly, as the poster thought, the guys in the studio, were laughing at the fact that Burnley are higher than us, just now.

He refers to el Classico (the derby) and states that we hate Burnley to death, as that’s our Classico. That’s the bit I think is found funny, rather than the fact that they are in the prem and we are in the championship. For a couple of Chilean nationals, the concept of Rovers hating Burnley, is probably quite amusing.

I think people suspect that we bought Brereton on the strength of Dack being a done deal.

When I was first learning Spanish, the teacher did bring up on a regular basis the differences at times, between the South American Spanish and the traditional Spanish. It was interesting to know how some of it did differ so much. Little words such as Olives for example are completely different, but the scary bit is getting a none offensive word, mixed up with offensive ones and there are several examples of that. All good fun I guess. My favourite by the way is es la leche, where the literal translation and the meaning in a certain context, are poles apart.

No goal last night for Ben, but he played most of it and the game ended 1-1.
