I don’t think there is any coverage tonight. Sky sports news usually show the goals as they go in. -

I don’t go up there much to be honest. I live in a little traditional Spanish town called Almoradi. It’s very quiet and no problems with the traffic. Its mainly summer when you have traffic problems in Torrevieja, especially round the big shopping complex at La Zenia. My mate has bought a holiday home near there and he flies over this week. He is a season ticket holder at Ewood, so a big fan and will be nice to watch the game with him. -

It’s been on my mind for weeks this, as I am sure is the case with lots of Rovers fans. I am quite happy to give up on the Hammers game, which for me is a one off, as if Rovers are playing tiddlywinks I want us to win. I am a huge Adam Wharton fan and with him and Scot being local lads, think both should start. I am convinced Adam will shine and can see him getting man of the match and hope like hell, he scores the winner and does a jig in front of the longside. I will be watching from Torrevieja with a mate and know it is going to be a tense affair for us and will be happy to share what this game means, if there are any Spanish locals around who want to join us. Given that my business partner is a Dingle and my Rovers mad son works for us, Monday should be interesting on the Banter stakes. My head tells me differently, but my heart says 1-2 with young Adam scoring the winner close enough to full time, to ensure my heart is given a rest from the rapid beating it has had to endure, during our recent narrow victories when parking the bus has been the order of the day. Whatever happens, I hope all Rovers fans have a safe trip and everyone at the game remembers we are all passionate fans of our proud clubs and none of the passion spills over into anything stupid. Enjoy the day and let’s show the football world how big this derby really is. -
It’s not 1973.

The first 15 was very open, a bit like two boxers full of energy looking to land a big blow. Had the Brittain chance been taken, it was a different game. After that chance, we were poor and once we went behind, we did our usual. No idea how to come from behind and we need to sort that out somehow. Hope we have played the last horror show game for a while, as I think the Dingles away game will either leave us very flat or very buoyed for a month.

Definitley.

It would be no surprise to see him becoming a target for the big boys, very soon. We are fortunate that he is a fan and a local lad. That said, if a big bid came in, then the owners might want to cash in.

The Bolton V Ipswich game was called off due to no safety certificate being in place. Ken Anderson was up to all sorts of tricks at the time and despite being the owner, he was pleading poverty. Staff not being paid and all sorts of other bills being held back, but he was taking money himself and paying his son too.

I can and I will be very disappointed if he doesn't start.

If the players are as up for it, as the fans, we should certainly have a chance. Given the local lads, especially the Wharton brothers, it should make it an even more special occasion. It already has me feeling the butterflies, just reading the last few posts, so bring it on and let's get the BR EXIT EMENT done.

Absolutely and I am not suggesting for one minute the same will happen with Vale, but we need to have a bit of patience and give him a chance. So far, we have seen plenty come through the system and perform well in the first team. hopefully we have another, as I love nothing more than seeing these young lads make it.
-
I'm not suggesting he will be anything like, but many will remember similar comments about Simon Garner, before he broke into the team properly. We came very close to selling him and it was only him insisting that he stayed and fought for a place that stopped the sale going through. It is amazing how some things turn out, given a bit of patience.

Just happy to see that one out. Brilliant goal from Adam Wharton, who looks like he has some real promise. Kaminski awesome and my nails are a bit short. Happy to celebrate this tonight though and happy to see the league table. -

Of course, but I prefer Rovers TV and other foreign channels. -

I thought the Sky pundits were a bit OTT on it and seemed anti Rovers for some reason, most of the night. -

Coming into this now. Wigan started like they gave a point to prove, but will run out of steam. -
The Worst Match You’ve Ever Seen…
lraC replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Rovers 0- Port Vale 0 first game back in the championship, after our first relegation from the premier league. Also remember a 3-0 defeat first game of the season at Fratton Park a few years back. I took the wife for a holiday on the south coast, knowing I had two tickets for the match, on the last day of our holiday. She has only just forgiven me. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Officially No Longer Our Head Coach

In most cases, I would argue it is a self - preservation exercise, as in it buys me more time that I otherwise might have. I wonder how many managers, would state that they need X number of seasons to achieve the goals that the interviewer asks them what they can achieve and what they have to offer?
