  1. He pops up now and then in between bans I think. I don't go on the site much, as there are far too many clowns, for my liking.
  2. No one has mentioned it, including the guys on the TV but the ball looked like it had gone out to me, before the cross that led to the goal. Did anyone else spot that, or is it me being a bit too biased?
  3. Much as I really want a confidence boosting win, the big thing against Boro, is not to lose. They have a game in hand and are 7 points behind us. Lose and it closes a big gap and will have everyone looking over their shoulders. Everyone including the fans need to do their bit now, as the next two are big and 4 or 6 points from them, will put us very firmly in the driving seat.
  4. That ball before the cross looked out and should have been a goal kick. Poor goal to concede, it loads of time to get back into it.
  5. Spot on and I can't see how some are questioning this one. I have been a critic of certain thing's over the years, but acknowledge when things are done that make perfect sense.
  6. It is a good signing, even though it might be a bit of a gamble. I haven't seen the fee confirmed, but it sounds like £500k there or there abouts. At his age, we can hope he turns into a top player and either starts for us, for years, or we make some big money on him. I guess to question a signing like this, means you question everything the club do, as I for one feel this one is right for us.
  7. I haven't seen him, but heard that he is the dogs do dahs.
  8. Probably one of the reasons why I didn’t see eye to eye with him.
  9. It was our only home defeat that season. They beat us 1-0 and all I remember was Jimmy Mullen breaking his leg and the 9 year old me, think they were the dirtiest team in the world.
  10. What happened to the poster, who started this thread? I didn’t always see eye to eye, but as a regular and interesting poster, I did enjoy some of his comments. Is he okay?
  11. A very hard watch, especially after the red, but I don’t care. Had we been awesome and drew or lost, I would have been a misery guts for the weekend. The defence did its job and to concede one goal in the last 8 games, is just awesome. With the last minute Luton winner, adding the cherry on top, it is a celebration for me tonight.
  12. I am almost sue you once mentioned the original offer Shebby put in for Rhodes was crazily low and I think I am correct in thinking he made a jokey type of threat, about coming after your house if the Rhodes signing didn't work out. Despite some cringe worthy things, I do actually have some fond memories of Shebby and agree, that at the time, he gave us some hope, during some very dark times.
  13. The Morten Gamst Pensioner, is another incident that springs to mind, when I think of Shebby, which was what he blurted out at the meeting at King Georges Hall.
  14. Whoops sorry, I just posted a new topic on this too. Can the Mods please remove. RIP Shebby 61 too young these days.
  15. The empty stadium, will make for an unusual (2020/21 excepted) atmosphere and should work to our advantage. I am hoping for a win, but avoiding defeat is a must. Rovers 0-1 Big Ben.
  16. One other thing to think about is, if we did go up, they are then out of contract and would presumably struggle to get a premier league team to take them, so they simply miss out on a promotion bonus and a premier league contract. The payers seem to be playing a dangerous game.
  17. Earlier posts from some people suggest we spike play fringe players. That team wins that comfortably with the first choice keeper. Bad for confidence that result and wrong that 4,000 had to witness that.
  18. During our early premier league years, we had trips to the final of the league cup and won it of course, a two leg semi final another year and two FA Cup semi finals too. All of those achievements, are close to as exciting as the actual winning of the league cup, as it felt great supporting Rovers in such big games at the life of the Millenium stadium and Old Trafford V Chelsea. Yes the game has changed, but there is no reason why we should give anything but our best in tomorrow's game and go on a decent run in the competition.
  19. It shows what it means to the fans still and therefore should be taken seriously.
  20. It's beginning to feel a bit like that Olympic badminton match, when both teams were trying to lose. What a farce the FA cup is becoming, which is very sad.
  21. Or Burnley at our place and turn them over. I love the cup and hate how the big bucks of the premier league have ruined it.
  22. Call me a traditionalist, but I will be pissed right off, if we lose this by fielding a badly weakened team. Granted we are on a great position in the league, but we should be trying our best to make it through and pocket the money and the chance of a lucrative draw in the next round.
  23. It is a concentration thing that, rather than a lack of ability, as I do believe he has the ability. Cut that out of his game and we have a quality player, at our current level. If we lose him for nothing in the summer it will be an outrage.
  24. I suppose under Venky’s, it could be argued that we are, as I for one, consider that still being in existence, is probably more than I dared to expect roughly 4 years ago.
  25. I rate him and strongly disagree with him being singled out by the manger. To play Bennet in front of him was a joke and I have to say he is one of the best full backs (wing backs if you like) in the current championship.
