https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/august/welkom-thomas/ Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of KAA Gent goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old, who becomes the first Belgian footballer in the club’s history, has signed a two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months. Kaminski, who has almost 300 career appearances and Champions League experience under his belt, started out at Beerschot AC in his homeland, making his professional debut in the Belgian top flight at the age of just 16. out.stream powered by ADITION Signed by Anderlecht in 2012, he won two Belgian league titles and three Belgian Super Cups, before having loan spells with Αnorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus and FC Copenhagen in Denmark, where he won both the Danish Superliga and Danish Cup in 2015-16. After a successful spell back in Belgium with KV Kortrijk, the talented shot-stopper joined Gent in January 2019 and started all 29 of their top-flight fixtures last season, keeping 10 clean sheets, before the campaign was cut short due to COVID-19. The Belgian Under-21 international also played all 14 Europa League games for Gent last term, helping them reach the knockout stage. Kaminski, who will wear the number one shirt at Ewood Park, must now undergo a period of quarantine, before joining up with his new Rovers team-mates for training early next month. Welkom Thomas! Oh, and he kicked his teammate in the groin so hard just a few weeks ago, that stitches were required at pitch side... https://sportlife.news/2020/soccer/gent-star-igor-plastun-left-needing-stitches-in-his-penis-after-horror-injury-as-his-own-team-mate-knees-him-in-groin/

Thinking aloud. We both want Ayala. Mowbray offers them Williams on a free (no signing on fee required) to back off. We sign Ayala. *wake up*
-
I expect they could house him at Brockhall for a couple of weeks?
-
I love this place ?
-
Especially when Dolan tracks back so well.
-
Mate who had a stream said Holtby suited sitting back and dictating play. Concur on here or is he talking crap?
-
Shite vs Blackpool, not consistent enough
-
Get Kaminski to kick him.
-
His name sounds good in your earrrrrr But when you say it, you mustn't fearrrrrr

I hope we'll be going with Arma on his own up top. 4231, with the 3 being fluid: Dack + wingers. Then when we need to go defensive and play more direct, or perhaps hold a lead use Gallagher more with Arma (or another pacey player) playing wide as an outlet like we used to with Gestede and King.

Kaminski speaks English

Hopefully Robin Bormuth or someone similarly under the radar.

Maybe people are mishearing 'Keeper signing for Rovers'?
-
Was that not just started by one random? Don't get me wrong, Kipre and Kaminski would go a LONG way and I'd even apologise for getting annoyed at lack of info from the club. Two seemingly quality, imaginative signings if we pull it off.

Tbf, 'Left over' after the fact is very different from announcing it before any is spent. I don't think a budget has ever been 'announced' by any manager apart from that year we sold Bellamy, and even that was downplayed as 'a good budget' rather than a figure. Unless we count Nixon's £50m Warchest ofc.
-
People going on about budget, if we came out and said we have £1m, then 2 players costing £500k each (affordable) suddenly shoot up to £750k each. Better keeping budgets under wraps imo.

I always wonder why they don't have a regular red/black halves 3rd kit. Limited stock means they'll rake it in every season and still suit the suits by bringing a new away kit every year. Then playing the red/black 3rd kit will feel more like Rovers when we do.

Has that report been sent to Mowbray? Loved reading it! Well done @JoeH and the other fella

Once upon a time, we were the Gold Standard
-
OTT yes, but not 'abusive'.
-
Honestly thought I was in the Transfer thread ???

3 years in charge and we can pick the same defence: Williams Mulgrew Lenihan Nyambe That being said, Kean could pick a midfield that individually played here under Souness: Pedersen Dunn Reid Emerton.

Barnsley reviews constantly said 'Lindsay will play at a higher level' than their other defenders and describe him as a 'ball-playing defender'. Not only does that suit Mowbray, could explain why he struggled at Stoke, hardly famed for passing from defence through midfield. I tend to err on the side of optimism, mind.
