As much as I appreciate the feedback as a Mod, you are pretty much asking us to double our workload as volunteers and members. It'd be nice to have the time, but of the mods I know one (probably all, in reality during this pandemic) is swamped at work, one recently had a house move, and I'm prepping my house for a new Rover on top of working overtime (recently worked 20 days out of a 22-day stretch). Reporting posts helps us, and we can just click our response to them rather than go looking for them. There are times when Mods can only be members for the sake of our lives away from here. Hiding a series of posts CAN take up to 30 mins due to post collateral, and messaging the members involved. That's 30mins I could be painting the ceiling in Baby E's room so that Mrs E gets off my back.

Cloughie on his defenders, according to Larry Lloyd: Our job was to get the ball off the other lot, then give it to someone who can play. And that's what we did.

In fact the opposite can occur. Exhibit A: Scott Dann.

Can they reveal the date on which they'll reveal the date?

Souttar is interesting, asked a mate of mine who supports Fleetwood, but follows Rovers on the side: '6ft6, reasonable goal threat for a young defender, consistent experience at a higher level than Blackburn's academy lads. Think a bit 'Chris Samba' in that he can be slow but once he's eventually accelerated he's fast. Can read the game well for his age, ready for a Championship run.' Seems positive but begs the question why Stoke would sell.

Not so much a funny quote but one that bugs me. Any variation of 'You couldn't write a script like this!' Yes, some of TVs finest script-writers, the likes of Jimmy McGovern, Sally Wainwright, Jed Mercurio, Vince Gilligan and whoever else, couldn't possibly conceive of Gary Taylor-Fletcher scoring in the 85th minute vs Stoke...
-
He's 'heard' that from here! In 3 years, the man has never broken Rovers news that wasn't already a name mentioned heavily on this mb. Believe me, we've checked. This mb and its posters are far more ITK than Nixon re: Rovers and I don't believe half of them either.

Ian Holloway when one of his defenders broke his nose: 'He can smell round corners now!'

People in and around football say things all the time. Some insightful, some nonsense, some downright funny. What are your favourites? I'll start with a classic from Cloughie: 'I wouldn't say I'm the best manager, but I'd say I'm in the top one.'
-
True enough tbf. It's just when he says it on MOTD about 'insert striker here'. Heard him say it about several one-season wonders including Michu and Benjani. If you're talking Henry, Cantona, or Shearer himself then I completely agree with you. I probably made my point very badly again ?
-
There's one from Shearer that irritates me: 'Not just a great goalscorer, but a scorer of great goals'. ...and? Some of the dreariest, off-the-keeper's-backside goals have given me as much joy as a Tugay special.
-
Possibly. Trouble is our history of hoping players hang on for us isn't one that inspires confidence. Erm... yeah ok? Were we arguing?
-
Probably more along the lines of 'You're our first choice', but we just happen to be looking at loans if we can't get him. Sensible. Yes, I'd rather pay £1m to get the player we want than miss out, especially in a key position, regardless who the owners are.
-
To get the player, rather than risk someone else coming in with peanuts and pocket lint.
-
My instinct is that the Phillips bid is genuine and we're sounding out loans if it doesn't come off.

@Hoochie Bloochie Mama wins! Unlucky Chads

In fairness, at that age he's likely considering game time as much as academy credentials. And Carlisle aren't to be sniffed at in academy terms, produced some tidy players over the years imo.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021
Mike E replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Thinking aloud (dangerous, I know), we seem relatively stable compared to several clubs in terms of having a good team (albeit GK, CB and LB gaps need plugging), an experienced manager, and a transfer budget. Other clubs seem to have various difficulties, be it a points deduction, novice managers appointed, or massively reducing wage bills. Maybe we could get to the playoffs despite Mowbray next season? -
O Captain, My Captain.

Remember when we had a side of international captains? Friedel, Tugay, Mokoena, Savage, Samba, Nelsen, Pedersen, Neill all captained their international sides at some point which is pretty incredible. Then include the likes of Bellamy, Dickov, Kuqi, Todd, Warnock, Reid, and others that escape me and you've got a team full of real hard bastards all over the pitch!

I wasn't fussed about knowing, but Mrs E wanted to know (same reasons, being organised etc) and I'd rather just know than make her keep a secret
