  1. Perhaps I should bore my wife more often ?
  2. Tried to find the old good news thread but no luck, so thought I'd start afresh. Post any good news you fancy sharing (no matter how small) to distract from the doom and gloom. NO POLITICKING! I'll go first: Finally fixed the drip in the sink last week.
  3. Loving 'Save Me' on Sky atmo. Up to episode 5.
  4. Even pre-massive money though, it seemed a relatively rare thing for a top star to go into coaching.
  5. Shows you the calibre of player to put in a MOTM performance at 38 out of position.
  6. I often wonder this, why do top stars rarely go into further footy careers? My suspicion is that top stars have achieved what they wanted, whereas lesser players perhaps still have goals that they need to achieve albeit vicariously through coaching and management?
  7. Easy to say when not in that position though.
  8. Sam Lloyd has now died ? immortal to my generation as the pathetic hospital lawyer in Scrubs ?
  9. Fantastic news that you're back fighting fit again mate. Speedy recovery ???
  10. What are those marks on his legs? Does Olivia do things we don't want to know about?
  11. Ooijer carried the stench of a weak first half-season throughout his time with us imo. In his first couple of games he gave away a pointless penalty and scored an own goal. After he broke his leg at City that first January, he came back all guns blazing and I'd put him on a par with Berg, personally.
  12. Really hope so. My pro has emailed me to offer discount coaching sessions til the year end after he found out my wife wants to get into golf. Nothing sinister ofc ?
  13. WWE/Drew McIntyre have arranged for Captain Moore to be given his own championship belt for his 100th birthday.
  14. After figuring a few bits out, think I'll just do a Rovers save. When I can afford a better machine to run other leagues, that's when I'll go all out and try the Pentagon. But this will be my FM for a few years unless they do a console one.
  15. Up and running! A bit slow but I'm not after super fast playing, just casual. Aiming to take Chester to the Champions League.
  16. Yes, I'd be using it for FM and literally nothing else. Just realised an alternative. I have this netbook: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04999120 I was given it as a teacher for OpenOffice and browsing. If I uninstall all non-important files/programmes, and install Steam (can store the files on an ext hard drive to relieve some burden), reckon that would be good enough? Not bothered if it runs a touch slow, or about quality match graphics (I still admire the 3d engine in fm14 ffs).
  17. Right... If I want a laptop/netbook SOLELY to play FM (no other function necessary), what can I get for as little as possible?
  18. The FA Cup semi vs Chelsea. Every time. A Wembley appearance on top of all else Sparky achieved here would've been amazing.
  19. Well I outlined above it's an assumption I made when I was 14 and haven't given it any particular thought since, not that I could care much less whether he is or isn't. He might be, he might not be. I can't particularly remember the circumstances of seeing them, but either I saw them being flirty OR my horny hormone-ravaged self thought I saw that. Certainly not intended as a malicious thought and if it was just a business partner or a friend then I was (and am) mistaken. You seemed to assume I thought he 'must be gay because of how he looks', which is what I was annoyed by. My actual point was that given my assumption that one of our players was gay (meaning I doubted it was unique or that anyone thought less of him for it), it's a shame we live in a society that still somehow allows homophobia to slip through. We can agree that it's a weird point in time where it would probably benefit wider society for a player to come out as gay AND YET we shouldn't expect that or be bothered if they do. Weird world.
  20. Based on seeing him with the same man at my late uncle's restaurant fairly regularly when I was a teenager. Could've been business or just a mate ofc, but I assumed it was a boyfriend at the time. Not sure I like the implication of the question, mind. I certainly don't think gay people have 'a look'.
  21. It's a shame for Rovers in particular as I thought MGPedersen was gay and was a fan favourite for many years. Then again I also want to get to a society where nobody particularly cares about sexuality.
  22. I made it clear to my missus that Rovers, Golf, and Wrestling are my first loves. They got me through hard times, and were there for me when my exes weren't. Happily she likes football (but a Dingle), and keeps trying golf (reckon I can convince her to get lessons), but she'll never understand my love of 'men rolling around in trunks' though...
  23. If they did, they'd get my money every year.
  24. Yes I'm thinking of the assist, where he back heeled it to himself round the defender.
