  1. I think we should consider inducting players who were not legends, and never will be, yet played a very significant part in our history; either length of service or extremely important bouts of form. So they may not truly be legends, but they gave us something important and made us love them for a while at least. The example I’d like to give is Jon Stead. He did very little over his whole time here, yet his immediate impact in his first half-season (latter half of the 03-04 season) personified our perpetual ‘punch above our weight’ history. Stead became our second-top scorer that season with 6 goals, 4 of them winners vs Boro (his debut), Fulham, Utd, and Everton. Without those goals, we would objectively have been 8-10 points worse off, putting us within a point of relegation. Without the confidence those goals inspired, we may even have been relegated that season. An inspired piece of business, by a flailing Graeme Souness, who eventually found his level lower in Football League as a journeyman Championship player. I’d also point out he never celebrated a single goal (scored by himself or a teammate) against us after he left.
  2. Imo, yes absolutely. However, future years will need ‘headline’ inductees to attract sales.
  3. I’d argue that anyone who has made a significant, positive impact on the club should be included. Even backroom staff, admin staff, and fans! #BirdyForHOF2020
  4. You can see it going utterly a rye at Bolton. It’ll go against the grain if Warburton manages to get a rise out of these players.
  5. Never say never. If you’d told me in 2009 that then-League-One Leicester City would win the PL within a decade, I’d have sent for the men in white coats.
  6. I think it’s this: Dougie, Clayton, Crompton are the 3 most well-known legends for the majority of fans imo. Shearer - The figurehead of our PL win. Garner - Record goalscorer. Fazackerly - Record apps. Freidel - Record consecutive apps.
  7. I think each player here has a club record of some sort attached to them. There'll be time for other legends in future years. I await the day that Aaron Mokoena is inducted.
  8. Might it be that we’re not signing centre backs because we’re going to promote a couple in quick succession? A bit like how Jones and Hanley were introduced only a few months apart?
  9. For what it’s worth, you guys are doing a great job of modding. I remember how I really struggled initially as a mod by implementing the new and stricter rules, particularly in the ICBINF section. Hellfire it was hard not making enemies, and we lost a lot of good posters then. Luckily we’ve done rather well since, probably in part due to my no longer modding (been nearly 2 years now?), after getting really quite unfair and personal with posters I’ve no issue with in person. It’s hard work, but done very well on here.
  10. He might have actually turned us down, Dingle bastard.
  11. Ideally, would like to keep it that way tbh.
  12. Do you wonder if you annoyed someone at Ewood, hence not heard much since the initial revelation?
  13. When you were saying ‘70% done’, what did you mean? And any further on that figure?
  14. Sol Campbell: ‘I’d have been England captain if I wasn’t black.’ He played in teams with Paul Ince as captain...
  15. Haven’t we just signed a virtually unheard of Gibraltan?
  16. Not sure why SG is underwhelming. Everyone who played under Coyle has massively improved under Mowbray. I think he’ll get a good tune out of Gally.
  17. Gallagher would be a good signing in my book, as the heir apparent to Danny Graham. A striker of CA or BA calibre would be a huge bonus, but I’d rather secure Gallagher if I’m honest.
  18. Dad: ‘When the keeper saw those thighs, the penalty was in before it was kicked.’
  19. Every report said deal ‘could be worth up to £7m’.
  20. We were on TV at least 6 times that I can remember with Gallagher scoring that awesome low volley vs (I think) Wolves.
  21. Mark Atkins used to live on the Jacks Key estate up Bull Hill in Darwen.
  22. Agreed on the first 2, but Givet was a CL finalist from Monaco!
