  1. That was a very emotional read. The world's less kind, less fair, less witty without Hoppy in it. When I taught, it was his example of fairness and empathy that I tried to emulate.
  2. Wharton's flick to Dack for the assist to Breo being a great example.
  3. Disagree. I'd want to see it to its full conclusion if there's a chance to show the EFL for the unfit organisation it is.
  4. So you have no interest in Blackburn Rovers? Bit odd of you to be on here then.
  5. Cooper. His defender, Steve Cook, has said nothing of the sort 😛
  6. Also shows that JDTs relatively unique use of the u23 side as a means of squad game time (given our young squad anyway) has really built confidence now it's perceived as 'extra minutes' rather than 'being dropped'.
  7. I've absolutely loves it. So true to the game, and even adding some real beauty to the canon.
  8. Seemed genuine to me, less than 2 days after the window closed, and backed up by subsequent actions by the club to appeal the decision. If it were only a face-saving exercise, why would we bother with all this legal expense?
  9. Not so much 'praise', but it's better than anything we've had from any level of administration in 12 years. I'd be reluctant to force out the only grown up in the room.
  10. No I'm assuming based on GB's words (10.50pm submission) and the fact we've appealled, and the fact the appeal hasn't been answered 3 working days after it was due to be. Remove the Nixon element from anything I've said and the point remains. There is no reason for this to drag if the fault lies entirely with Rovers.
  11. We submitted the broad outline at 10.50pm (in fact the club were certain the deal was completed, so presumably much more than a broad outline), as the EFL responded by asking about relegation. If this bit was after 11pm, it's open and shut case and the EFL wouldn't have bothered asking. Equally, none of the alleged discrepancies (player's agent name misspelt and moot relegation clause) would cause a blocked transfer at the 'broad outline' stage. At least, not in a sane world.
  12. Problem being, you only need to submit proof a transfer has been agreed by 11pm (which we obviously did at 10.50pm for the EFL to respond to), surely as long as the details were hashed out and submitted by 1am, the deal should've been allowed? This is where I'm struggling, unless I've got it badly wrong.
  13. They should've been ready for it as soon as they put the ball back in play. If I were Rangers, I'd go and get possession, not wait for them to give it back. They're my opponents, not my neighbour fetching it from the back garden.
  14. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I'm all for shithousery like that 😛
  15. Nah, balls to that imo. Yes I'd be annoyed if it were against us, but Rangers gave them the advantage of a throw because of the injured player. Therefore Rangers should have every right to play the game as normal from then on.
  16. I can't see how the loan deal can be blocked tbh, IF it's the EFL that caused the delay with an inane question. By all accounts from within the club, all was done and dusted at 10.50pm.
  17. The lack of striker from this window is going to kill any playoff hopes we had. It'll go one of two ways: JDT takes the next job offered. or He gives the club a chance to make it right in the summer.
  18. Can't make the funeral sadly, as I'll be working. Can I please be included in the card? Also my wife Michael Ellison - 2002-2009 Julia Ellison (nee Shekleton) - 2007-2012
  19. Can I request a reminder the wknd before? Will wait till Payday to order.
  20. I wouldn't mind trying a reverse of that. I still think Dolan could play like Dickov if he developed a mean streak.
  21. Hoppy never taught me, but as a deaf pupil I was one of his 'weekly chat' pupils as part of his Deputy Head (Pastoral) duties. Or so I thought. At a fairly recent OBA reunion, he told me I was only part of his duties for Yr7, and he continued his chats with me every Thursday lunchtime because he knew I was Rovers mad. What a smashing bloke.
  22. Not a bad shout. Possibly he and Travis (if improved) could make a relatively combative midfield by our standards.
  23. DJ Campbell. Luckily the loan window saved us an embarrassment.
