Have to say if the USA had the England team's funding they'd be world beaters imo. Possibly will be in the next 20 years or so.

Great Footballing quotes ....

'On paper we'd have won that game, but sadly for us football's played on grass'. Cloughie. -
Re: England, I feel like we need to stick a back 4 to accommodate more attacking players. But I do think it's now worth going with TAA whom I've previously stated would only be good in a back 5. I'd go with: Pickford TAA Stones Maguire Shaw Rice Bellingham Saka Foden Grealish Kane On 60 or so, bring on Rashford and Sterling in place of Kane and one of the other attackers to put pace against tired legs. I'd also being on Phillips at some point.

England 3-1 Wales -
We're through as long as Wales don't beat us by a 3-goal margin or more.

What a game! Goes to show the credit England deserved on Monday.

Fuck me that HAS to be a red for Hennessey. Ridiculous challenge.

Bur six of those I chose DID play for the big six.

Name your Premier League all-time X1 of players that never got the plaudits/rewards they truly deserved and would never make your average PL all-time X1, but you admired them. Any formation allowed with at least 1 GK. Non-Rovers encouraged (although Rovers are ofc allowed), as I'd love to start seen PL players named that I've long forgotten about. The more random/obscure, the better! To get the ball rolling, I'm picking no ex-Rovers: Here's mine, 433: Schwarzer Hibbert Radebe Southgate Riise Palacios Barry Krancjar Valencia Saha Malbranque

GOTT so far imo, closely followed by the Saudi winner.

In fairness, they seem to be trying to step in on fans' behalf. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/qatar-lgbt-laws-fifa-rainbow-28558303.amp I can't find any reference to the law myself (now doubting myself), but I was certain I had read that rainbows were a banned pattern to the extent that children's toys were being taken away by police and destroyed.
-
I completely agree with the brilliant and eloquent posts above but I'm going to add one small caveat in support of FIFA and their stance on punishing teams wearing rainbows in support of the LGBTQ+ community: It is illegal to possess/display a rainbow pattern in Qatar. Now, the reasons for that law are as ridiculous as you think they are BUT I somewhat understand FIFA's stance in trying to prevent teams going to a FIFA competition and actively choosing to break local laws on such a widely-viewed stage.

The two weeks prior to Christmas would be a good way to do it imo, just before a rush of games, and extend the season into the end of May.

4-3 England -
Question, folks. We've just bought a tumble dryer. It's the type with options to use a water reserve and empty it after every use, or standard drainage pipe. I anticipate it will be before Christmas that my wife forgets to empty the reserve and floods the utility room, so I want to use the standard drainage. It will be next to my washing machine, and the set-up behind will look as in the image below. The washing machine drainage goes into a PVC pipe into the waste, but I can't fit both it AND the tumble dryer pipe (that I'm holding) in. Do I: 1. Get a bigger bit of PVC pipe and shove both flexi-pipes in OR 2. Connect the flexi-pipes with a junction somehow?

Apart from the fact that our most recent tournaments are our most successful since 1966 and came on the back of low expectation such as yours.

A bit of a thing of the past in the era of streaming and Netflix etc, but I've been inspired by an advert I've just seen with the new Three Lions song (love it, and hope it's Christmas No#1 and a 4th platinum disc for Skinner and Baddiel). So I thought I'd ask, whether they be iconic, well-done, funny, tear-jerking or bloody awful; what are or have been your favourite adverts over the years?

That 2002 Brazil side must be one of the best in memory.

For me, Zidane and Buffon are in that class too.

Batty is a player I'm very excited about for next year. Reminds me very much of Stephen Warnock.
