  1. Kinda surprised that Will Smith's slap hasn't made it into a debate on here. What say you fellows? Personally, I don't believe anything should be above comedy because taste is subjective. BUT... It seems to me that Chris Rock has made digs at Jada before and been asked to stop, so doing it again in a very public arena could probably be classed as bullying behaviour. With all that being said, WTF was Will Smith thinking? Not only is violence not the answer, but to do so after laughing at the joke himself looked hypocritical at best. He's also failed (imo) in being a supportive husband. It's not the 50s anymore where you 'gotta defend my woman' from hurty words. Jada is more than capable of responding to Rock herself and rising above the tasteless joke to raise awareness of alopecia. Instead, any time Jada talks about her condition, it'll be asterisked with 'Will Smith smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars'.
  2. I've heard it from several different sources that Lowe was actually sacked at one point, and then personally rehired by Balaji. I think this was around the Lambert/Coyle times.
  3. Exactly that. He's basically done a Souness. But a league lower. And started with a relegation. And didn't win a trophy. Or place us in the top 6 of the league we were promoted (back) to.
  4. 6 out of 10 for Mr. Nearly. Should've been 7 out of 10, but as I say. Nearly.
  5. Alan Ritchson is an infinitely better Reacher than Tom Cruise, and a series definitely does the books better justice than the films. Some slight narrative tweaks to allow for those things that just can't be lifted off a page, but I think Reacher (on Amazon) is fantastic. Been a fan of the books since I was 12, and read all of them up to now.
  6. Hope Scott Hall manages to pull through but it's not looking likely. On life support after 3 heart attacks over the wknd (hip operation dislodged a clot, apparently). 'Hard work pays off, and dreams come true. Bad times don't last, but BAD GUYS DO!!'
  7. https://fb.watch/bDr4sKgdDC/ 19 years since he last wrestled, I hope he doesn't wrestle again. Leave your legacy alone, Steve! If need be, break the glass, Stun Kevin, have a beer party, flip him off, and go home. But don't wrestle! Still not lost the trash talking touch though!
  8. Additional plea: Please consider donating ANYTHING that may be needed in someone's life. Think about what YOU need and whether it'd be easy to get hold of. Think of things others won't think of (through no fault of their own). Eg: I know that deaf Ukrainians won't be getting hearing aid batteries very easily, so I've donated £50 worth of batteries of varying size (yellow, orange, brown) plus my most recent NHS allocation of batteries.
  9. Upper-mid would show that Vince hasn't learned from the Invasion 20+ years ago. ALWAYS present anyone coming in from a rival really strong for at least a while. Then when your own roster starts beating them, they look incredible.
  10. Surely even Vince can't fuck up a returning superstar 'poached' from 'that pissant company'? And surely Cody wouldn't let him? I would hope for something like this (spitball booking but bare with me): Feud Vs a 'WWE lifer' like Miz for WM38 (maybe involve Maryse if Brandi is coming too). Tease it by having Stardust flashes or have Miz' pocket squares with polka dots or something (but treat the feud itself seriously). Cody coming back has to be a big deal, done the same way Punk was done. Cody returns saying 'I was held down by Vince. I went away, and created a whole new company. I became one of the biggest stars in the world, and a better promoter than Vince ever was' etc. NO digs at AEW, praise only. Miz doesn't take it that way 'You went away because you couldn't make it. Look at what I achieved and I stayed' etc. Cody goes over. Rinse and repeat feud with John Cena at Summerslam. Goes over another WWE lifer at Survivor Series in Rollins. Cody wind the Royal Rumble: I didn't come back just to be WWE champion, I came back because the only thing standing in my way from being THE biggest superstar in the world was standing at the head of the table. Feud with Roman Reigns at WM39. Something akin to that, the need to book people strong again. Book SUPERSTARS instead of booking outsiders as inferior.
  11. I'm cautiously excited. WWE could fuck this up OR it could be their 'Outsiders' moment.
  12. When they carry me in: When they close the curtains:
  13. With the news that a 3rd series is being filmed, me and Mrs E have just rewatched Happy Valley S1+2. Fantastic police drama, fabulously written by Sally Wainwright, northern humour, and I have a slight crush on Sarah Lancashire.
  14. Feels like best we can hope for is an absolute tonking next game, because Mowbray sure as hell ain't motivating them.
  15. He's been semantically very clever. What can Starmer say against the phrase 'he failed to convict Jimmy Savile'? He certainly can't say 'yes, I did'. Boris might be the biggest wankstain on the Conservative shiterag, but he's a clever one.
  16. Whatever happened to that player that Everton nicked from our academy? Think he was called Wright?
  17. That summer (2009?) was when I found him out. Talking up a fantastic striker we were signing, feeding us clues every fucking night only for it to be Franco fucking DiSanto. Charlatan, that bloke.
  18. Need to bring BBD on in the left forward position. Put Giles at LB either by hooking Zeefuik or moving Zeefuik over to RB and hooking Nyambe. A right footer at LB is disjointing us.
  19. Of those club transfers I feel like there's only us, Bournemouth, and perhaps Stoke that have legitimately strengthened. The rest seem a little 'much of a muchneas' to me.
  20. Get the pacey boys on them from the off. First game of the season they couldn't handle Dolan at all.
  21. If only we'd brought in a suitably capable centre back. Phil Jones maybe 😉
