  1. I get the feeling we'll have had deals lined up to replace all 3 major contract 'rebels'. Zeefuik (imo) being one of them, but too good to pass on.
  2. Because he's not played today (his decision) due to wanting to leave. I don't care how or why, but that is a shithouse move on your teammates in the position we're in.
  3. It makes no sense even from his side to leave now? If he leaves now instead of summer, Rovers get a fee, he gets no sign-on, he potentially misses out on a bonus on offer by Venkys, and is risking joining a non-promoted club. If he leaves in summer, he potentially gets a promotion bonus, and even if we don't get promoted, he still has Prem clubs after him, along with commanding a juicy sign-on fee.
  4. Very typical of Barry, apparently he'd been joking for the last week or so that 'I don't know how long I've got left, I don't dare buy a green banana.'
  5. I love my comedy, and Barry's death has really upset me. A fantastically kind man too. Contrary to the stereotype, he did buy me a drink once.
  6. Two nuns are driving down a dark road, when Dracula jumps onto their car. One nun says to the other "Quick, show him your cross! Show him your cross!" The nun shouts "Get off my bloody bonnet!"
  7. "A man drives down a country lane and runs over a cockerel. He knocks at a nearby farmhouse door and a woman answers. "'I appear to have killed your cockerel,' he says. 'I'd like to replace it.' The woman replies: 'Please yourself - the hens are round the back.'"
  8. When you search 'blue nun footballer' in Google, the first footballer's profile to come up is Marek Hamsik. I'm personally holding you responsible @Mercer if he isn't signed in the remaining days.
  9. Glad to hear he's recovering! Did the club pay him for his contribution to our win?
  10. Here's an idea, and forgive me if this seems mind-blowingly radical, but bare with me: If a mod hides your post, and you keep posting it, and it keeps getting hidden, I bet it REALLY impresses your classmates at playtime tomorrow. OR it's really annoying, so just save us the hassle at 11pm when some of us are doing the night shift babywatch, when we're starting work at 5am, yeah?
  11. Yes, because it was trying to provoke other posters.
  12. If I remember rightly, it was a loan with an obligation (not option) to buy to get around missing the permanent signing deadline. I even think it was technically a £7m loan fee which became a free transfer.
  13. Exactly this. I, in fact, prefer the opposite system of a little man, big man combo.
  14. @Ianrally It's pretty simple. It's to allow those in discalced congregations to use the prayer room as readily as you. It's not solely (haha) for Muslim prayer, or Jewish prayer, or Christian prayer (which I'm assuming is your take on it, given your references to specific exclusionary Christian prayer rooms at other clubs). If you prefer not to pray barefoot, don't use it and pray elsewhere.
  15. Hi all, just want your thoughts on something. I'm thinking of setting up a bit on the side (not like that) on my days off. Do you think there'd be scope for something like me coming to 'you' (whoever the person would be) for the following: £10 - travel costs (would take as a deposit) to anywhere in Lancashire. Completely clean and polish (including rust removal) - £1.50 per club, whole bag £20. £1 per extra club above 14. Paint fills (designs agreed beforehand) £1.50 per club, whole bag £20 (assuming already clean). £1 per extra club above 14. Combos: Clean (including rust removal), polish, and paint fill (designs agreed beforehand) - £2.50 per club, £30 whole bag, £2 per extra club above 14. What do you think? I think the USP is that I would come to you. That's convenient, it's cheaper than postage (£15-ish), doesn't risk clubs going missing in the post (as has happened to me), and you wouldn't have to make a trip anywhere. Thoughts? I'm thinking of aiming at the more casual golfer, as I'm pretty sure regular golfers look after their equipment more readily.
  16. I think I've told the story before, but a couple of years ago my cousin was doing some sort of property deal with Hughesy. He's an Arsenal fan, but he knew how much I liked Hughes so invites me into the Zoom conversation. I told Sparky how much I loved his performance in the Worthy Cup final, especially playing in midfield when traditionally a striker. He replied: 'I like it when people tell me about that day. It's one of my favourite medals because you don't win many at 38. But being played in midfield, I thought Graeme was trying to fucking kill me!'
  17. Some of the 'reasons not to sign Burke' would apply to Dack imo and I'm glad he's returning soon. Cautiously optimistic. If we sign Chris Wood (don't give a shiny shite he's a Dingle), that would be a genuinely stunning signing imo. He's everything I want Gally to be, and would be akin to Lambert's signing of Danny Graham for us imo.
  18. Sunglasses and a blinding headache this morning...
  19. Ok ok, it's late and I've had a drink, but hear me out: Dani Alves Gonzalo Castro Nabil Bentaleb Kwadwo Asamoah Paulinho Diego Perotti All without clubs, all experienced, perhaps a touch of PL class in them yet.
  20. Apparently lots of lower shareholders at Burnley selling up. They've been offered half-cash, half-credit. The mistake (on the club side) is that the credit can be used on STs and hospitality. In my FIL's case, that's 5 years of STs in a hospitality box 'for free', plus cash.
