  1. It still galls. We will never ever get another chance like it. All we had to do was be cuter and see the game out by bolstering the midfield and we would have won 1-0. Then anything could have happened in the final.

    Chance of our lifetimes gone.

  2. Fat Sam would have picked a team of has beens and fired exocets at Kane's throat.  We'd of drawn v Tunisia and won 1-0 today. He'd then set up not to concede v Belgium then been floundering when we conceded. Him and Sammy Lee would have wasted another 4 years on donkeys.

  3. Just been reading an interview with Sep Blabber and a 48 team world cup really rankles.

16 groups of 3 where only one team in each is knocked out. It's adding a layer of pointlessness just so they can make more money from teams that are nowhere near good enough.

They should learn from past failures like the time when the champions league had two group stages and even the last Euros where it was so bloated with below average teams 3rd place got you out of a Group. It was no coincidence it was the worst euros ever.

    Quality not quantity.

Comparing Tan with Venky's is pretty disingenuous imo. At what point did Tan hand over control of the club to an agency? Who was his Steve Kean, or indeed his Owen Coyle? Who on Cardiff's staff asked for  transfer targets on Facebook? Which board members there staged a public power struggle? Which random TV pundit was brought to Cardiff as a 400k pa global advisor? Granted they had the issue with the kit colour changing but Tan ultimately listened to the fans and changed it back. What's happened here is far more insidious than anything that's happened at Cardiff.

I am in agreement with you even though I was never ever comparing the two. Though football fans are a fickle bunch and a sniff at the knicker of success clouds memories.?

Venkys can still go to hell..nothings change.  This is just a tiny ripple of positivity in an ocean of mayhem and destruction...venkys out!!!

Obviously getting out of the Sunday league isn't what I was getting at. Just prompting a debate as Tan has done sonewhat of a Lazurus

As long as they put us back in the prem then sell we can all forget about them.

  6. If you learn from your mistakes and act on them is redemption possible?

Vincent Tan says it might be*

*I am talking about promotion to the premium not getting out of league one

What's your realistic road to redemption, of sorts?

For me it's get us back in the Prem, leave funding for the first season, wipe the debts then sell asap

It's about time the DE was shut for home fans. There's been literally about 50 people in their for the last two seasons, pointless having it open really.

So maybe they should just shut all but the Jack walker and BBE lower next season? :blink:More coin for Bilaji's chest waxings.

Just what the game needs. More pointless tournaments. More money grasping. A bigger chasm between the elite and the rest. More boredom in an already saturated market. More attending fans disenchanted. It's very possible that league football in the future will be played in sparsely populated stadiums at silly o'clock for the benefit of armchair watchers thousands of miles away. By the mid point of the century the world cup will be a 64 team tournament. The current 32 team tournament, soon to be 48 which by the way doesn't divide down without having eight 3rd place losers qualifying rendering the group stage pointless (which is what made the last Euros the dullest tournament ever), is already bloated with dull games between nations that wouldn't grace a local park. An elite tournament my arse. Is it any wonder amateur attendances are on the rise as the professional game loses its way?

There was a proper ceremony in 2015 for Preston's last promotion. It was the main part of a carnival in Bamber Bridge, with several floats, large cowds and Station Road closed for the afternoon. There was no trouble as far as I can remember. Rovers coffin lowering in 2012 was not allowed in Bamber Bridge, a smaller ceremony was held at Ewood instead. Rovers coffin lowering in 2017 took place on a much smaller scale than traditionally, there was no carnival , no large crowds  and no road closure, the coffin was just taken from pub to pub in a car.

Because it was absorbed into the family carnival. The last proper coffin bash as they have been known was when the nobbers went down in 2012 and they messed it up forever. Station road was blocked with pissheads outside every pub with 7 black Mariahs for the ensuring fights and criminal damage.

     - will you still stick to that if we end up getting a howler of a penalty decision in 89th min of playoff final to keep us in League 1 another season?!

Twas ever thus. I'd take the tried, tested if imperfect 140+ year working model over VAR
