  1. I think you’re absolutely miles off with that one. I’d bin Mowbray tomorrow but would never have sacked Big Sam and it was obvious where we were heading when he was sacked (ten years ago today I believe by the way). In fact, I’d say a lot of those who were happy to see Big Sam go due to some nonsense about his style of play are content with what Mowbray is serving up just because we’re ‘easier on the eye’ and scoring a few more goals. That does mean there are people who were unhappy with us in mid-table in the Premier League but happy with us stuck in mid-table in the Championship. Very strange, but that’s the impression I get.
  2. Another wasted season. The league is as weak as ever and it’s absolutely wide open, yet we’re slap bang in the middle in 12th, 12 points off the top and 12 above relegation, you (almost) couldn’t make it up. This is after bringing in a load of signings and quite sure he’s never had to sell anyone he hasn’t wanted to in almost four years in charge, what a luxury. You often hear talk now of “remember that season when both Rhodes and Gestede banged in over 20 goals? How didn’t we at least get in the play offs!”. Well fast forward a few years from now and the equivalent will be “remember the season when Armstrong scored 30 and we had Harvey Elliott on loan? How didn’t we at least get in the play offs!”. It’s all just extremely frustrating.
  3. Of course we have! Do you not remember the 18/19 season when we finished.......15th? I'm the same though. There's almost no point analysing the matches themselves or getting too upbeat or optimistic after a win because the bigger picture will always be the same - we'll never be challenging under Midtable Mowbray.
  4. Is it not just one game for Lenihan? Thought Neil on comms said it'd just be one game whether second yellow or straight red.
  5. Absolutely superb that, well done Rothwell, joy to watch he is.
  6. His win percentage overall as a manager - Oldham and Barrow - must be in single figures.
  7. Alternatively, I see Rooney is in charge against Wycombe and if they win both those games - which is possible - they'll probably panic and end up giving him the job. Which would probably end up being hilarious.
  8. It does ring a bell from a while ago yep. Maybe the Chilean media were waiting for him to hit some good form before reporting on it!
  9. He’s got a load of Chileans on his Instagram now asking him to play for them ? now that word has got out about him being eligible. He’s been excellent lately and delighted for him to have 3 goals already (plus a few assists). Can’t believe he’s the same player as the one we saw before the first lockdown. Keep it up Ben.
  10. Come on Rovers, have to win this now. Well done Gallagher for not going down until he got in the box. Preston really have been dire.
  11. Big Sam linked with the Derby job. Not sure how much there is to it, but I hope he doesn’t go there - as they’d be ahead of us after a few weeks.
  12. Would absolutely love for that to be the case. I’d be stunned if we go up but yep - would love it.
  13. He’s more of a centre midfielder isn’t he? Think that’s where he plays for Napoli - it’s Insigne, Lozano, Mertens etc in the forward positions for them - although not sure where he played last night. In any case, I think it’ll be at least a couple more years yet until Elliott is knocking on the door at Liverpool. After us I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes out on loan again, maybe to a Premier League team if he has a good year with us, which it looks like he will.
  14. ^ Crikey, Berner, Rigters and Keith Treacy? No wonder we lost. Shame as that turned out to be our final cup match under Hughes. The squads we had from 05-08 were definitely good enough to win something - unfortunately we just couldn't get past teams from the 'big four', as they were then, when facing them in semi finals.
  15. Indeed, not many teams have conceded more than us, I don’t think. Must be rare that a team with such good attacking stats is down in 12th so we need to sort that out and make the most of having a lot of goals in us. Just hope we don’t end up looking back at this season in a few years, say with Armstrong as the league’s top scorer and Rovers with the most goals, and thinking we should have done more. A bit like the season where Rhodes and Gestede both hit 20+.
  16. Team with the most goals, best goal difference and top goalscorer in the league but down in 12th, crazy.
  17. I remember watching Fowler doing shooting practice before a match he started at Bolton for us under Ince. His finishes were all inch perfect, right in the corner etc, exactly where he wanted to put them. Very impressive. Unfortunately once the game started he looked like he was rooted to the ground.
  18. I watched him against Milan a couple of weeks ago and he looked like a fish out of water. I did think he'd do well up there, but certainly happy to see that the fans are on to him ? Wonder if his dad will be on social media this time slagging Celtic off?
  19. Great idea! I think I can get most of the recent ones too (just a couple I’m not sure on) but I’ll have a do at a couple of older ones: Second one Hakan Unsal, third one Dario Marcolin?
  20. Only Wycombe and Coventry have conceded more than us. Poor. Speaking of Wycombe, well done to them for holding the mighty Watford and their £30m players ?
