Decent looking team, glad it's been mixed up a bit. Rothwell stands out every time he comes off the bench so looking forward to seeing him from the start.

Derby County vs Rovers, Tues 18th Sept
frosty replied to Mike E's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Would have had Rothwell or Reed, or both, in. They both look full of enthusiasm and energy and Rothwell has played well every time he's played. Nevertheless, come on Rovers! -
QPR must be truly dreadful.

Great result and what an opportunity to make it two wins in a row on Wednesday. COYB!

4-1 unbelievable!

An Assessment of Player Performance v Ipswich
frosty replied to tonyoz's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
True about Dack though. Some players are so important to a team that they should be on the pitch at all times (unless, say, 3-0 up and coasting with 10 mins left). I'd say Dack is that important to us. -
If Chaddy says it's a bizarre post then it's almost certainly bang on. No different here.
-
Jagielka I think. Great stuff!
-
Rovers are doing a poll on Facebook and Twitter asking if goal music should be kept. Get voting to remove it people.
-
Pre-injury Ronaldo (he essentially missed 3 full seasons around the turn of the century) had it all. He did exceptionally well to reinvent himself as a pure goalscorer after that but yeah, he was on another level before his injuries.
-
Unreal that from Mbappé.
-
Henderson's better than most give him credit for but Matuidi is certainly better. 0-0 HT. Belgium started off well, having a lot of possession but France have had the best sights of goal.
-
That Italy team was superb! Buffon, Cannavaro, Nesta, Pirlo, Gattuso, Totti, Del Piero etc......correct on the other two however!
-
Well, we did have Cairney who's better than them all!
-
Mbappé again! Absolutely superb. No one in his age group can match him.
-
Mbappé what a player! Keeper should have gone with his feet though. And that goal from Pavard was quality. Love that technique, just like Nacho's for Spain.

One of England, Colombia, Sweden or Switzerland in the semi's. Crazy.
-
That's not true though, is it? Real Madrid got fewer points than Spurs last season. Don't let Sky Sports/Talksport or whoever it is spoonfeed you your opinions. The PL from 7th down last season seemed extremely low on quality. And that's with teams like Bournemouth being able to spend £25m on one player and Palace spending almost £60m on two players without anyone batting an eyelid. Are you serious? I'm a big Hughes fan but his Stoke side shipped loads of goals. Warnock's a great Championship manager but he's always near the bottom of the PL. So considering he's done it v Ferguson's United, Mourinho's Real Madrid, Allegri's Milan and Juve, Ancelotti's PSG, Guardiola's Bayern and City, Simeone's Atletico, Conte's.........actually, I'll stop there, can't believe I'm having to try and justify Lionel Messi being able to score against Cardiff and Southampton.
-
There's nothing bang average about Lionel Messi and Barca certainly aren't world class atm. "Put him at Crystal Palace" is like when people try and diminish Pep's achievements by saying something like "he couldn't do as well as Dyche at Burnley". We'll never know because the best players and managers are at the best clubs. I have no doubt that Messi would score a hatful against the powerhouses of Huddersfield, Watford and Bournemouth. I don't watch enough La Liga to know about the teams in there (and I doubt you do either?). There probably have been players that have scored more in Spain than England but there are cases where players have thrived more in England. Salah scored 15 in each of his two full seasons in Italy, he's just come over here and bagged 32. It can happen, depends on a lot of different circumstances. And Messi didn't score against Chelsea for a while but regularly did v Arsenal and United.
-
Let's not pretend Messi wouldn't tear the Premier League a new one. He's scored loads of goals v United, Arsenal, Chelsea etc in the Champions League (a goal a game on average v English teams I think, and them being the top PL teams), won games on his own v other top foreign teams like Bayern, PSG. Does he need to score against the poor teams from 7th down in the Premier League to prove himself? No idea what Argentina are playing at though. Dybala and Higuain stuck on the bench, Icardi at home. Crazy.

£25m for Dawson and Rodriguez is insane, as are most prices these days. Bring back the days where you could get Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz and Benni McCarthy all for about £10m.

My point with Jokanovic was that when he was appointed at Watford, people would have said then that it was a risk as he didn't 'know the league'. Yet straight up they went...... Wagner is another one, Stam was a penalty kick away from going up (in both of their first full seasons managing in England). Carvalhal got in the play offs a couple of times. And that's just off the top of my head in the last couple of years. I've acknowledged it could go pear shaped with Bielsa but if you're a Leeds fan then it'd be hard to say no to somebody of that stature. Especially when whoever they appoint will probably be out the door within a few months anyway.
-
Neither did two out of the three managers to win promotion from the Championship this season (well, Jokanovic did, but before he went up with Watford a couple of years back he didn't). Bielsa would be a hell of a coup for a team that have been in the Championship (or lower) for almost 15 years. He's highly unpredictable so it could either go extremely well or it could quite easily all end in tears by about November (or earlier - check his Lazio episode). It'd be definitely worth the risk though.
-
If Martinez is clueless enough to leave Nainggolan at home but take wasters such as Benteke and Januzaj then, even though they've still undoubtedly got some top players, maybe England have more of a chance against them then I thought.....
-
Regardless of how many options we have upfront at the moment, Abraham is better than all of them so if an opportunity to sign someone like him came along we'd have to take it. For the record though I'd imagine he'd go to either a lower PL team or a Middlesbrough/Derby etc, rather than a newly promoted Championship team.
