  1. Anyone watching in Preston? I'm assuming it's on in Assembly - but it's closed till 4. I'm gonna go and watch it in the Angel probably when I come out of work at 5.
  2. I think the next step is to create the thickest football XI. So far we've got McAteer, Ferdinand and Rooney as strong contenders.
  3. Nugent - not a chance. He'd only move to a Premiership club surely!
  4. Also remember when Kurt Nogan was at Burnley and he wouldn't sign a new contract. He was interviewed on Radio Lancashire about the reasons why and he said it was due to money - he wasn't sure on the exact percentage but he wanted a 100% pay-rise. He then revealed that he was on £750pw - and wanted £1000pw.
  5. I've always thought Rio Ferdinand was a bit thick. A United season ticket holder told me that before one match - the teams were lined up ready for kick off - and the teams had to change ends. All the players swapped ends apart from Rio who took up position next to the oppositions centre halves
  6. Try using his lightening pace and first touch to better use. In fairness - although not a 2.5m player - if used right he should be a pretty good player in the championship.
  7. I remember him doing it for Newcastle and getting sent off - but I thought that the most recent acting was against United from Fletchers shot. Couldn't believe he did it again!
  8. Pirlo and Maniche - Dreamworld D'Allesandro - too lightweight to play in a 4 man midfield Barton - Just signed a new deal Reo-Coker - West Ham fans have been less than impressed with him this season
  9. It was my birthday too! 17! Remember having a pint at half time while everyone was singing "Who Let the Bent Out" for about 10 minutes in the concourse. Seem to remember an ageing Colin Hendry playing for Bolton that day. One of Jansens very best games.
  10. I'm exactly the same. I must have signed up for that site about 50 times!
  11. I'd quite like to see Burnley in the Prem 6 easy points for us and good to see them losing every week
  12. Football fans are so fickle it makes me laugh. Yes we have played poorly in the last two games - but no need to panic yet - still 8 group games left! Croatia are very good at home anyway. As for the calls to get Beckham - I disagreed until I read someones point about Kieran Richardson. While Beckham shouldn't be starting, we certainly miss his set pieces - Lampards are awful. McClaren made mistakes last night - the formation was wrong and he should have taken Ashley Cole off rather than have him limping for the last 20 mins. He knew he was injured when he made his triple substitution. McClaren wasn't my choice as manager - far from it - but now he is we should at least get behind him. People were loving him after 2 games - now people are calling for his head. It's madness. Rant over!
  13. I personally think Warhurst suffered from being a jack of all-trades. From what I remember of his career he's been too versatile for his own good.
  14. 2-0 to Liverpool. Ooijer own goal and he gives away the penalty for the second which Bellamy scores on the rebound.
  15. Stuart Ripley - vastly underated by non-Rovers fans, fantastic old fashioned winger. Colin Hendry - would throw his face in the way of a fierce shot to save a goal Tim Flowers - Great personality Alan Shearer - Best striker ever to grace the Premiership Tugay - Technically amazing Jansen - Wonderfully skilfull, goals to take us to promotion, the goals against Burnley, goal at Deepdale, goal against Spurs at Cardiff. Legend - such a shame he got on that moped Duff - Home-grown, pure genius. So exciting to watch him run at defenders Dunn - Home-grown, Blackburn lad, eye for goal Keith Gillespie - Controversial one maybe - but on his day there wasn't a better winger in the Premiership - terrified defenders Brad Friedel - Not as great a personality as Flowers - but a better Keeper. Unbeatable at times. Lars Bohinen - we never had much creativity in midfield when I first started watching Rovers - then Bohinen arrived. His performance in the 7-0 against a Forest side unbeaten in 26 was amazing.
  16. What was he supposed to say? "I really wish the move had gone through"? Just says to me he's got some common sense - much better than Lucas' way of doing things.
  17. http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/content/new...3A09%3A36%3A223 The Bowen story isn't of course the big news in Norwich at the moment
