  1. Spot on. This would force the Euros to be every two years too. Qualify (Euro), Event (Euro), Qualify (WC), Event (WC). We would have competitive internationals every year. Would start to bore people rather than the other way around IMO.
  2. Now I know how Irish fans feel, those pesky Chileans have just stolen a player nailed on to start for England one day...
  3. Yup, if the lad is ambitious, he will move if he can. We don't do ambition here under TM. This lad under the right management could be a top player - seems Sheff United maybe think that.
  4. he has one decent season tbf - doubt he would recapture that under Mouldbrain
  5. Bloody hell, that's three different Messi's in one day. Now we just need to get linked to the Turkish Messi Otzhumer. None will eclipse the Scottish Rooney though!
  6. Think you're getting posts mixed up. Believe BDS was talking about BB, not HC. Edit: Looking back, maybe i am wrong.
  7. Back to his routes, amazing thinking where Huddersfield were and have been since he was last there.
  8. Yeah we couldnt even convince Bell (not that I want him to, but TM did) to sign on - he had better offers elsewhere. No chance we offering better wages than 29 other clubs, many of which probably finished higher than us last season.
  9. He got 6 of their 20 nominations for goal of the season (think he scored 7 in total). Can skip to about 2 minutes before you see him appear. I would play him in the Dack role and give him a run of games. TM will probably put him RB tho.
  10. Looks like it will drag on longer. Wilder now wants $20 million to step aside or a third fight. AJ given 48 hours to agree a fight with Usyk.
  11. Had a bit of an ego on him did Hodgson, fancied himself as good as Fergie. Hodgson later complained that his failure at Blackburn tarnished his reputation in England, whilst his record on the continent should have made him comparable to Sir Alex Ferguson: "Of course, my track record, if people bothered to study it, would put me in the same category as [Sir Alex] Ferguson enjoys today, but people don't talk about what I've done outside England", he says. "Here, they just talk about Blackburn Rovers, but that's just a very small part of a 26-year career. To most English journalists it's the only part. I've got an excellent track record in Sweden, Switzerland, Italy and in Denmark, where FC Copenhagen was my last job before I went to Udinese. We won the league there by seven points. Admittedly, the fact that I walked out and went to Italy to some extent tarnished that reputation... A few years after us, he was sacked at Copenhagen for these comments. Newspapers quoted him saying: "Obviously I'm very happy to be back at this level of football, but I could have chosen a better club to come back to. It's an extremely strange club." Hodgson denied making the comments[38][39] but later claimed that he wanted to leave so was happy to be dismissed.
  12. Ok, so Evans might not be the best comparison. But is goals and assists something we now judge central midfielders by? In our formation, Cms will not get many and I think his numbers have been fairly decent from there. My argument is that his driving runs terrify defenses and cause all sorts of trouble (when it pays off). Sure if he was played in the 3 behind, I would be concerned with the lack of numbers. So should we compare his numbers to a Travis, Davenport or Johnson? He has the ability to run at defences and can ping some great passes. Alongside a good enforcer I think he could flourish.
  13. Come on, Nuttall was pretty useless tbh. Samuel was better and thats saying something. Both now struggling to perform in the league one. For contrast, Samuel is now 27 and has scored 25 goals in his career (133 games), most of those at Leauge One level. Armstrong is younger and scored more than that in one season at Championship level Nuttall has played 1 match (36 minutes) in 20/21 for a League One side, scoring 0.
  14. Taps firmly off. Relegation here we come. Did Chapman even read his contract? I cannot fathom how player, agent, and manager all think he has a one year option when he doesnt.
  15. The guys tires to make things happen from CM. I dont care if he scored 4 goals or assisted 2. I know he does a better job creatively than an Evans or Bennett. His driving runs scare the live out of teams and it is that which creates chances whether or not he played the final pass.
  16. You dont rate Rothwell, we get it. Sorry man, i agree with a lot you say but you have a tendency to have real hate for some players. Under a different manager, a player of Rothwells talents would bloom. You always over site end product but then diminish other modern stats - which is it?
  17. Would be a good pickup on a free though at this level. Especially considering age and wages, plus decent experience at this level. Obvious taps are now off. We cannot even keep LBs we don't want as they have been offered better wages elsewhere. Now our youngsters are fckin off too. What can he be on and what would he be on compared to some other dross?
