Yeah, it bites a bit being so close but what is there to moan about here really? Another club came in for him that happens to be a league higher that can offer more money. I do think the Sharpe article didnt help matters - got everyone excited that we are spending money on a defender for the first time this generation.
I recall us nearly signing Roy Keane only for Utd to scupper the desk at the last minute. These things happen in football.

I never thought I’d say this Stuart but you’ve just made me feel MUCH better. I think our ‘penniless’ XI would finish comfortably between 11th and 15th.
Thamks!
From previous posts the suggestion is that a player will have to be sold to cover wages/help balance the books so more likely your team minus either Dack or/and Armstrong is the mire likely scenario with a potential goal keeper Loan.
to answer your question no I’d prefer a solid goal keeper/defence to Dack I’m afraid or even Armstrong we managed half of last season with them not featuring for periods but leaking 5-6 goals is not something they can shore up. Recent example Messi/Barcelona ?? ( aside let’s not forget we once beat Barcelona in a friendly)-

Question:
If it meant having to play Fisher (1) and Hilton (2), would we be better off than if we had to sell one of Armstrong, Dack or Lenihan in order to buy a new keeper?
Seriously ? with our defence

I'm really at a loss at those trying to give the management - all of them - a free pass on the keeper situation. There's plenty about this current situation that isn't altogether their fault. However the keeper situation which was manifesting itself before Raya left really is.
No excuses it's about time some hands were held up !
It can still be rectified but it's the very worst time to be trying do it however a set up like ours with the money it costs and has had should not be in that situation. It's the kind of thing that you'd expect to happen just pre Jack Walker when we really didn't have an egg cup to piss in and injuries and age had decimated the tiny squad we had.
It's nothing short of pathetic in this era they really need a rabbit out of a hat.
I agree we really shouldn’t have released Richie Smallwood our super keeper

Is our scouting extending to the local pub leagues? IMO this is where our market will be. Maybe we could trade Bennett??? -
So if for example we were able to sell a player for say £7 million with add ons etc (Armstrong or Dack in 6 months etc etc). Do I get the impression that this money would not necessarily be available to restructure but would be used to reduce overheads/pay existing players recuperated by Venkys?

What is the proposed return to action date for Dack??

At least our Academy is still attracting additions

IMO Mowbray is a team manager. Our problems as a club go way beyond that. We have no recruitment/infrastructure it’s easy to blame TM but in all fairness considering his remit he’s doing above and beyond what should be expected. TM shouldn’t be a scape goat for this situation iMO it’s lack of investment and direction beyond his remit that is to blame. I can’t and won’t blame him for this and neither should fans in all consideration he is doing a fantastic job.. who would be in his shoes

Just watched the highlights. Have to say I’m made up for Gallagher.
Yes me too...but perhaps if he didn't pull those white socks quite so high he would look mildly more elegant on the ball???

Grant Hanley on the bench consistently at Norwich. Not saying we should sigh him but he's not fulfilling his potential needs a move/rocket up his arse.
-
Main observation from todays match: left bemused and frustrated by Gallaghers positional play. I.e Armstrong firing across the goal and Gallagher strolling forward and not anticipating a shot/attacking the far post to meet the ball. No predator instinct or making runs putting defenders under pressure. When Graham came on he immediately charged straight at defenders pushing forward into the box. Okay no contact but the intent to get on the end of a ball/or draw a foul was clear.
I'm bemused why something so clear in his positional play isn't corrected. Instead he seemed to be confused between swopping with Armstrong into a wide roll/rotating and caught between two positions. (Mowbray tactics??).
Or is this just me......

Three Scenarios:
1) He’s injured
2) City have recalled him
3) We’ve an incoming defender lined up for January and have sent him back to City.
** most likely Scenario 1
*** least likely Scenario 3-

I knew the answer, but thought it would spark discussion re: all things Venkys etc. I guess the fact that people recently are making this rubbish up is indicative of the mess Mowbray is currently making of things.

Just the same under Bowyer every Int break photos of players jetting off all over the place or on the lash. It really is treated as a sort quarter season holiday more than anything else i think.
Not much resting gets done though it doesn't seem.
Personally I wouldn’t be posting this all over social media. Suggests a huge lack of awareness but hey hey if it keeps Olivia ticking her social circle posts

In an ideal world tomorrow’s new away strip reveal at 9am would be worn by a new signing. Shame this won’t be the case ...
