  1. Just saw the lineup, I got my wish. Dolan needs a productive day. Big Ben should get some help from these midfielders. 2-1.
  2. I am glad to see most of us take the same stance on loaners. They are zero long-term use. I was ridiculed on “the other” Rovers board, for arguing against obtaining large numbers of loaners (3-4). That being said, I loved Tosin & Elliott, and I think Clarkson is a solid talent. While he’s here, he needs to be used (especially since he appears to be our only transfer that is fit).
  3. Broken record time… There’s plenty of blame to go around when you’re ahead, 2-0, and can only get a tie. But, it happens far too often to our team. That’s on the manager. it’s past time for a change on the touchline.
  4. I said it earlier, I like, no LOVE, this lineup! Nice bench today, too.
  5. I like this lineup. I bet we see Khadra today, too. COYB!
  6. I thought we might actually have an easy game. Now, I have no idea, but I’m dizzy from reading about our incoming players who are not expected to be available for this game. I am hopeful I will feel better when I see the starting lineup, about the time I wake up here in Texas tomorrow. G’night, I hope y’all get this figured out!
  7. I have seen the LFC/Rovers match in its entirety, securing the PL trophy to Rovers. Tense moments indeed, when Liverpool got the game winner, but no matter. Rovers were league champs. Also, I’ve watched the League Cup match vs Tots. Amazing, the team was considered almost an afterthought, with 2-3 starters out. What a great victory! 🏆
  8. It’s been interesting, I will say that. The first Rovers game I saw on TV was an FA Cup match, vs ManC. It was Bowyer’s boys, all the way, as Scott Dann scored the only Rovers goal. I could’ve easily picked anybody in the universe to give my affections to. My son was already a huge Liverpool fan (even though he got his Masters at Reading). Why Rovers? I read & watched everything I could get my hands on, Rovers-related. I love Rovers. End of story (see my pic above, with PL trophy. The folks at the club were great to me, to give this Texan a tour of all of Ewood Park, incl the 1876 Boardroom). None of us have an answer for the disease infecting BRFC. We can’t get what we want (TM & waggott to go, owners to sell). Just keep loving the blue & white shirt. The fans need to show up, it’s the only Blackburn Rovers we’ve got, or ever will have. Cheer the club. Let the lads know when they give 100%, darn sure let em know when they give less. Give TM the business, when he fails. My last word on this, I will let it go, & take what comes: I honestly want Rovers back in the PL, but it’s not the end of the world if they don’t. I don’t demand it. I will still cheer them on. I just want the owners & admin to be honest about things, to admit when they fail, and show that they give a care about the future of the club.
  9. I live in Texas, and I have only been to Ewood once (Sept., 2019), so my opinions may not be valid. If they are, I am too far away to be of much use, but I love the club, so here goes: I am 59 years old. I am a fan of two professional teams, the Dallas Cowboys, and Blackburn Rovers. I have been a fan of the first since my first recollections, in 1968. I have been a fan of the 2nd, only since 2013, but I am objective enough to see the main problems of both, in spite of my fan status: The owners & mgmt team. Both clubs last hit Paydirt the same year-1995. Cowboys had the same owner, but his Prez & GM status wasn’t the same then, player personnel decisions were split with Jimmy Johnson, who was the real author of 3 SB titles (even though “Smoking Guns “ Switzer won one of those). I believe the Cowboys are variously touted as one of the top two or three valued pro franchises in the world. So, Cowboys & Rovers differ in that respect. Jones is an astute businessman. Any novice would admit that. but he’s hopelessly inept as a Prez & GM of an NFL franchise. If he would admit his failings, & hire a true GM, Cowboys fortunes would immediately improve. No Super Bowls in 26 years (& two playoff wins) says it all. Rovers net worth is far less, but their predicament with mgmt isn’t that different. Cowboys have a damaging, meddling owner, who is involved in every aspect of the club. In Rovers case, we are hamstrung by negligent owners, who rely on the word of shills & flunkies. If Rovers’ owners care about their investment, they will put people in daily contact with the club, who are trustworthy & know enough about football to provide adequate guidance to the club, both financially and on the pitch. It is obvious they do not have those people in place now. There does not appear to be a firm hand overseeing the work done by the “Coventrio”. If there was, there would be some accountability, by the most objective measuring stick available- moving up the table, & promotion. TM has definitely had enough time to show positive results since promotion from League 1, there have been none. Changes are overdue. Did the owners refuse to do anything before because of covid? If there is not progress this season, I would suspect big changes… IF reasonably intelligent people are involved. Sadly, we do not have any reason to believe this is the case. Therefore, I expect more decline, and lower gate receipts are in store for Rovers. How low it gets, before changes are made, no one knows.
  10. 100%. I guess I could gripe more, but, we have enough fans griping about TM.
  11. A point well won, one breakdown, otherwise we get all three.
  12. I’m watching Ollie Walker-Peel’s watch along, his comments get better every week. good job, Ollie!
  13. Here we go, don’t concede in the 1st minute, it’s a success! COYB!
  14. I’m not, I’m just saying the primary reason of getting loaners is if we’ve got everybody else in place, a couple of key loaners are there to give us solid depth & get us over the top. Sadly, I see our club as a 15th-18th place outfit.
  15. I’m interested to see how the loaners work out. I still feel loaners don’t truly benefit us in the long run, we only have ‘em a year. I like both these guys, but I don’t see these as good enough to get us into the playoffs.
  16. I am not discouraged; I hoped for 1-1, but picked it 1-2, that’s what we get. Kaminski is big-time. Clarkson showed quality. Get ‘em next time.
  17. Our lads must be feeling fairly confident, playing a promotion probable, this early in the season, anything can happen. Defending has not been poor, as it started out last season in such a mess. For me, 1-1 would be a fantastic result; however, I am expecting 1-2. COYB!!
