  1. No Branthwaite, Armstrong or Holtby. I forget about Ayala being on the squad- useless lump. They are a solid team defensively, I think 1-1 might be the best we could hope for.
  2. True; if so, with the difficulty Liverpool is having scoring, they would’ve been trying to take back Harv Elliott already.
  3. I don’t think we accept the failures; we accept the hand we’re dealt- for now- and hope for a managerial change, some incoming players to take us closer to being in the playoff mix, & re-sign those players who can help bring about success. I said it before and I’ll say it again, we have a nice young nucleus of players on which to build. Good times are ahead, hopefully in the not too distant future.
  4. I would strive to play as many as possible who will be here next season, but that would not keep me from playing Elliott. We need his passing & creativity (tied for 2nd in assists behind Toney). If JR-C is fit, play him more minutes vs swans. I have my doubts we can win, but a tie is possible. Play the 11 that have the best chance to be successful.
  5. I agree with TS... a Rovers win is a big event to me, worth getting excited about. Besides, we have a great, young nucleus of players... the right manager would love this team. Lots of promise for the future!
  6. Honest question by a Texan who is still trying to figure out the English game... So, today was Mowbray’s plan B - or just a madcap attempt by him to throw 11 on the pitch to find something-anything- that works? I’ve watched American tackleball 50 years, and finding effective substitutes is nothing new. You always have to get backups ready, and the next generation of players... but, Rovers are fairly young, other than Johnson & one or two others. Tonys efforts at putting forwards and wingers in proper position seems to be good-intentioned buffoonery, at best. Basically, It’s taken him 2 1/2 months since our last strong performance to put an effective 11 on the pitch. So, was today skill and footballing acumen on TM’s part, or luck?
  7. Amen to this. 22 goals for Sam in a Rovers shirt now. He’s still fairly young.
  8. Love it! Three points for my birthday tomorrow, thank you, TM & lads! 🎉
  9. 50% possession... wonder if TM is frustrated by this?
  10. Wacky... no Arma, & Elliott on the bench. I can’t see this lineup scoring anything (so we probably get 3 🤣)
  11. I have thought it myself, and it saddened me. Let’s hope he’s still working his way back to 100%. It’s obvious he’s definitely not there.
  12. My birthday is Sunday... all I want is a point... just a measly POINT from my beloved Rovers. C’mon, Tony, help to make this Texan with low expectations a happy man! 🤠
  13. Yeah, this & Bristol City are the best chances to get any points this month. Not that I feel good about them, either
  14. Predictions: - We will lose (“we deserved better”, says TM); - TM isn’t going anywhere this season. This is why we don’t want to lose- It doesn’t get Mowbray fired, and we’re too close to the bottom now to want to get any closer.
  15. Reminiscing about much happier times, King Kenny is 70 today! thanks, Sir Kenny, for giving Rovers fans something to shout about!
  16. I get it... Boro connection. At least Ayala has started games at this level; I’m not sure Pears could start for a League 1 side.
  17. Another question- Daniel Ayala. Will we ever get anything from this guy? He’s 30, and thus far, has only played parts of 9 games in a Rovers shirt. So, he’s drawn a healthy paycheck to sit back and watch teenagers play his position, teens that return to their parent clubs next season. I suppose we will get another loaner or two next season to play his position...
  18. A bit of a change of subject here, but Sam Gallagher has scored 21 goals in a Rovers’ shirt. Twenty-one? Why can’t I remember many of them?
  19. Of course they are separate. Sacking Mowbray doesn’t end our problems. The next guy needs to know what the heck he is doing, or we will still be in the swirl.
  20. I’ve had all day to think about this mess (it’s 6:49 PM, in Texas), and my feeling hasn’t changed. Losing doesn’t get any easier over time, whether it’s vs the #1 team or the #24 team. Lads, it could very well be like when Coyle got the boot; the cancer had been found, but not the cure. There still a lot of season to be played, we’re free-falling on the table, and we still are counting on teenagers at the back. I like to think those in charge are aware the mess is getting worse, but even if they agree there is a problem, getting it fixed is a whole other proposition. I have supported Blackburn Rovers only since 2013; some of y’all since the 50’s. So y’all know how bad it can get. Just the fact there’s noisy owners, board, CEO & sometimes manager, doesn’t mean they have the sense to fix something. Just because a jackass brays aloud, doesn’t mean he knows what he’s saying. We’re not out of the woods yet. I can be somewhat happy when Mowbray is gone, but I cannot be content and satisfied until I know who replaces him. Either of those events could still be a long ways off.
