  1. Midfield... I’d have to play Dolan, and hope for 15-20 minutes from Downing (no Dack? maybe I missed something. I think we all know he’s not fully fit, but he’s still better than most). Might be the best we could hope for. Now, it appears Trybull might be available.
  2. Wacky stuff happens in sports; our run of losses is inexplicable, but what does that say about Liverpool’s? nobody can explain this stuff. We could win 6-0 tomorrow, or we could lose 0-6, or anything in-between. I still think we tie 1-1, our players give 110%, and Mowbray breaks down and cries, saying we deserved more. Mowbray stays. We need to get used to it.
  3. I’m expecting the players will leave it all on the pitch, in a hard-fought, 1-1 tie, that afterwards Tony will say (as he’s been saying), “we deserved all 3 today.” Sad.
  4. I would have him in the squad; not to start. I am of the opinion we already have enough kids on the pitch, “youthful enthusiasm”. We don’t really need anymore, unless they are good enough. I believe our kids tried hard vs Watford; but trying hard, with this manager, hasn’t worked. We need more from Tony & his staff, if we’re to avoid falling into the basement.
  5. Interesting, on the club website, “we must stick together”... Harv Elliott saying this, the youngest, most malleable player on the team, and a loaner, at that. What are the veteran players saying? Not sure Elliott, as immensely talented as he is, speaks for the majority.
  6. Yeah, I could get excited about any number of managers, but Sherwood has not managed in at least 5 years, and was a failure then. He’s another Rovers favorite son of bygone days; I’d hate to be shouting for his removal.
  7. First time I’ve ever read every post of a game day thread... all 41 pages. Lots of frustration amongst our fans. I’m frustrated, too. But, I would guess there’s a 10% chance of Mowbray getting sacked before Coventry, & only a 25% chance of the hatchet afterwards (a loss obviously). I don’t have any insider information. I don’t have a friend who works for the club. This is all guess-work on my part, but the worst possible scenario: TM here for the rest of the season. It boils down to being a money decision, not a win/loss thing. Obviously, I hope I’m wrong. I’m just preparing myself as a fan of the club, when nothing happens, and we’re stuck with this situation & have to deal with it as best we’re able.
  8. The wheels are truly off. There’s simply no leadership at Blackburn Rovers. On the pitch or off. A new manager could restore sanity, and build up the players he knows he has coming back next season, and try to keep the better ones who are probably off. A good manager could sort the squad out, pick the same 11, back-to-back games, and instill some confidence. If there aren’t some changes soon, I’m afraid we will be where Bolton currently are. This is a mess, and it’s turning into a nightmare.
  9. I think that’s about it, we’re not going anywhere with Tony. I’m not going to get ugly, he just isn’t getting us anywhere. It’s not Watford, it’s the first four clubs we lost to, all below us on the table. Sometimes, a change is warranted just for the sake of change. This appears to exceed that scenario, we’re in a relegation battle now, free-falling, no end to the tumble in sight, with the games we’ve got coming up in March.
  10. Rothwell YC, I sense frustration and we’ll be at 10 men forthwith.
  11. I’m not having much heartburn with this 11, Evans excepted. Not sure what reason there would be to start him.
  12. I can hear him now; we lose, 0-1, he will say, ”that was some Premier League quality defending today”
  13. I think you care, or you wouldn’t post; you’ve just ceased to care about the Mowbray regime anymore. For the fans, Liberation Day is the first day of any new manager at a club.
  14. Lenihan, Gallagher, Johnson, Trybull, Holtby, Ayala... all out. I assume Williams, as well, but he wasn’t mentioned. A least a couple of those could’ve been useful vs Watford. Nyambe.. “touch & go.” Bennett & JR-C... “Won’t feature.” Pike & McBride to be in the squad. Low to no expectations. Oughta be fun
  15. The 4 teams just below us, could all pass us with wins. If Coventry beats Swansea and we lose, they could be within two points when we play them this weekend. Yeah, I would say our situation demands three points; if we cannot pick them up vs Watford, Coventry becomes a must-win situation.... or we could well be toying with relegation.
  16. Yes, I fully agree with that statement. I believe we’ve “maxed out” under his mgmt. I don’t think he can possibly last that long, considering the current state of affairs. We’re averaging a point a game... that’s definitely not enough to promote, and maybe not good enough to stay up. I’m glad the owners don’t have as itchy a trigger finger to can/sack managers as they used to, but a loss tomorrow, and they might find it much easier to do so.
  17. Yeah, defensively, I don’t know what else can be done. If Nyambe is healthy, that answers one question. Three questions remaining, LoL
