  1. This game is tremendously important. It’s imperative Rovers have a strong showing, and again, Jan 16. Just about everything until March are highly winnable games. If we’re gonna make a run, it started with our midweek mess vs Rotherham. But in March... ugh, points are going to be scarce. We might take 2 out of the 15 possible.
  2. I am elated to get the win, but an inferior team stymied us for 90+7. We get Stoke twice in the next month, otherwise, we should expect wins. Irony is, the best player on the team is 17, and he isn’t even ours. Much like Adarabioyo last year.
  3. No dire predictions, simply, Rovers need to get back to winning ways, if we have any hope whatsoever of being in promotion race. Arma hasn’t scored in three games; I expect to see him make up for it today, COYB!
  4. I agree on the point totals, re: Next 5 matches. If we don’t start picking up some big points, we might as well forget about playoff or promotion, and get excited about finish in the top third, as opposed to mid table. Dack returning soon will be a welcome addition, but honestly, the defending is where we are lacking. We will just be losing to teams above us in the table, 2-3, instead of 1-2 as we now do.
  5. You know, I agree with you, they are needed, but I don’t think these three will help our instances of really lackluster defending. I guess after we get ‘em back, and we lose , 2-3, I will be singing, MOWBRAY OUT with the rest of the choir.
  6. I hate to concede to them before it’s even played, but davulsukur is probably closer to being correct than I’d like to admit. We need that “signature win”- Any win over a Top5 opponent. So far, we haven’t had that.
  7. Thanks for the comments; I have been at the Dr, so all I have to go on are what I’ve read here. No doubt, Tony well-pleased to have 57% poss., & four shots on goal. Gotta get ‘em in, COYB!
  8. We won both last year, Dack’s last game before injury, 2-0 (Johnson & Arma), & 3-1, the game of the restart. With or without Dacky this time, I expect a strong showing. Recent results, motivation, & Tony picking 11 names like a monkey picks bananas, Rovers can show themselves as serious contenders for promotion. Arte et Labore.
  9. I’m elated at a point today. A point might have been we could have hoped for, even if we had all 11 the entire game. So, Does Davenport deserve a runout, with alll the injuries, etc?
  10. Good grief, Right when things were looking up, today and for the season.
  11. I’m going to stay optimistic, Rovers are on a nice run, taking 14 of the last 18 points, & Tony has been pretty good at getting 11 on the pitch that can get us points. This run all started with 0-0 vs Boro when we had 12 1st teamers out, 7 who under anybody’s score card could be considered starters. I’ve gotta trust Tony on this one... hopefully, I won’t be venting my anger on him if it doesn’t play out the way I think it should. COYB!
  12. I’m thinking Rothwell & Downing might give us the edge. If not now for Downing, when?
  13. Elliott is going to have a fantastic career. Probably elsewhere, but I’m thrilled to have the lad for now.
  14. Rovers with 17 points in the 7 games Rothwell has started; I sure hope it works, whatever Tony has up his sleeve today.
  15. Yes, I lol’d at these. Turn up and we win, ha ha. Tony’s recruitment of nice, easygoing lads is well known. I wish we could get dirty & maddog mean on occasion.
  16. SamG has scored twice in the last three games, BB has scored twice in the last four. I don’t think even the most optimistic of us expected this kind of production. Arma with four in the last four- but the good news, it’s not all about Armstrong scoring, if we want to win. I think my favorite stat is 3 goals allowed in the last five. If we can keep that going, we will win a bunch more than we lose and tie the rest of the year. Trying to stay positive...
