  1. Add Grabbi to Cole,York and Todd and the financial loss incurred by Rovers for those players is massive..VERY worrying. With the Cole fiasco Souness has just put his head on the guillotine block in my opinion.
  2. Souness has his replacement for Cole in Dickov much to my horror....its as simple as that,he really does believe this fella can do a job for us! . All this talk about signing the likes of James Beattie etc is pie in the sky it just isn't going to happen people. Will the board trust Souness ever again with big money after the Grabbi fiasco and now this abortion,he's wasted millions in all honesty with those two deals..complete financial disasters!!! The horrible truth in the cold light of day it appears has yet to hit home with some of you.......
  3. 'Andy Cole is NOW a 10 goals a season striker or in other words a mediocre premiership striker.' And how very precious those goals were from our 'mediocre' top scorer last season...... The club has set itself up for a big fall here and make no mistake To start Dickov ahead of Cole is nothing short is crazy, sheer rank stupidity.
  4. 'With the player reportedly on £55,000 a week, Rovers may well have to soften the blow by coming up with some kind of severance package to get Cole off the books. ' We are now looking at a ridiculous situation where the club has to PAY to offload one of its star players(money we cany afford by all accounts) who nobody really wants to see leave. JHC!.... Perhaps the story of Rovers paying half his wages while playing for another club are not too far off the mark after all
  5. I've just read the LET article and I'm sorry to say this but I'm becoming increasingly angry and frustrated with Souness. The partnership of Cole and Stead was showing some real promise last season...ffs! why cant you put your personal differences aside for the good of the club..your paid enough to be be proffessional and responsible on all levels for christs sake man!! Not one mention of the possible backlash from the Ewood faithful as yet again we look at one of the fan's favourite player's facing the Ewood exit door roughly a month before the new season start's. The thought of replacing Cole with Dickov is appalling to me,the guy isn't fit to clean his boots and we wont simply find a replacement as good as Cole as there are non available and we are 'skint 'as the club keep's bloody repreatedly telling us. I'M REALLY SADDENED BY THIS NEWS,ITS PUT A REAL DOWNER ON THE COMING SEASON FOR ME PERSONALLY
  6. A lot it would seem aren't prepared to listen Hughesy..they weren't 'entertained ' enough last season and thats enough for them. Sadly Indictive of a section of so called 'supporter' who attends Ewood these days...ITS A REAL SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS.
  7. ''Cole wants to know whether he will even get a game, with the arrival of Paul Dickov looking like a further nail in his coffin.'' Your a complete gem Nixon, anybody who believes that wild statement must have had a frontal lobotomy Just what is your problem with Blackburn Rovers fc fella, you write nothing but negative bullsh1t about our club
  8. ''An officer requested that the kick - off be delayed in order to reassure the crowd that there was no urgency. The request was denied'' That action alone is totally scandalous...unbelievable. Now then, your vitriol against Souness needs to be laid to rest Skemlad..the fella offered a full apology long ago.We have ALL said and done thing's(many without thinking of the consequences) that we come to deeply regret and Souness made that known about the interview and has continued to do so. What do you want him to do FFS? what is done is done, anybody who believes Souness DELIBERATELY set out to hurt the feeling of Liverpool's fan's need's to have their head examined. REMEMBER HIM FOR THE GOOD TIMES HE GAVE YOUR CLUB AS A PLAYER AND THE NUMEROUS TIMES HE PROUDLY LIFTED THE EUROPEAN CUP.
  9. £15!.....kiss my arse Stockport Roll on the Preston game.
  10. ''Blackburn is not a footballing town'' ''A couple of my mates experienced exactly the same emotions around 2 years after we won the Premiership. One of them just stopped going for a few months and the other actually got a S.T. at Bury for 2 seasons.'' These are comments from BLACKBURN ROVERS FANS......... This thread is throwing up some serious weird sh1t here roll on the new season before the psychiatric hospital beds overflow with Roverites!!! . . . .
  11. Short of spending money that the club does not have on big-name and big-money signings I can't see how the club could create a 'buzz' themselves. Personally, I'd rather not have a 'buzz' than to jeapordise our future. If that means a few less thousand season ticket holders...so be it. FLB Improving I totally agree and I might not have made it so clear above but the 'buzz' I refer to is not one of jeopardising our future - more the bringing pride back that we have a Football Club worth speaking about. That is why I also mentioned going back to the mid eighties - we never used to have money to spend willy nilly but there always seem to be a good feeling around the place when we where at home and everybody knew when there was a game on at Ewood. As so many have reflected on here overtime, maybe the expectation levels of the fans have been raised due what has happened over the years and we have had too much of a good thing (Tris, Gav). As a result the feelings towards the negative due to the 'bad season' we have just had may be the influence, but all in all there does seem to be alot of apathy about regardless of last season's mare - even now pre season which is normally an exciting and intriguing time for fans full of hope (from Carlisle to Man Utd) there doesn't appear to be an 'atmosphere' of anticipation about - more of doom and gloom around Ewood Park. How about 'We might not be able to compete with the likes of Chelsea/Man U's etc in finance but we will certainly give it a go on the pitch and at the end of the day we are still Premier League team just the same as them' Excellent post Capt..spot on.
  12. Leeds are after Bumley's 'superstar' Chaplow...I really do hope they get him in the end and we can watch our friends drop like a stone!
  13. Are we talking about the same Newcastle who had gates around the 12k mark back in the early 80's..DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!!
  14. ''My point still stands, Blackburn is not a footballing town IMHO. Incidently I wouldn't say Middlesbrough is either.'' Dave, I respect your opinion but I'm REALLY trying to understand that comment. What constitutes a footballing town then?..........
  15. I understand your point fully OD ..compared to say the Geordies or even fans of Everton our supporter 'passion' comes a very bad second...is it me or do people from Blackburn seem more laid back in their attitudes?
  16. We could do better on the support side at the moment in my opinion but that doesn't equate to Blackburn as not being a football town does it OD! Non footballing towns dont take 30K supporters 200+ miles to watch them play in the mighty full members cup or have record gates of 62k do they...sorry mate, no offence but I thought your comment was as far from reality as possible.
  17. I can clearly remember some fantastic 5,000+ away followings back then Dave in the 'bad old days' that at the time belittled the clubs position.
  18. WOH!,WOH!!WOH!!!.....I'm sorry Ossydave but to call Blackburn a non footballing town is ludicrous in the least! We are, despite our falling support, STILL one of the best supported 'town teams' in the UK and our club has a tradition many so called bigger city clubs would die for.....BACK OFF FELLA!!
  19. The club is sadly losing the battle, they can do no more..... The snide remark from opposing fans about our support being 'plastic' appears to be coming home to roost....we are running out of excuses and we ALL know it.
  20. ''And why are we never chosen to host England games? I know we had the U21s against Greece, but surely we deserve more than that!'' Mmmmm interesting comment, always thought grounds had to have a capacity of roughly over 33k to hold an England international....didn't they play against Croatia at PORTMAN RD not too long ago??? Agreed,Long overdue on East Lancashire soil.
  21. ''Can I point out that approximately 60000 English fans have visited Portugal over the past 2 weeks. There has been approximately 30 arrests.'' What a marvellous statistic surely only the ENGLISH could be so well behaved...................
  22. And a big clap to those people!.... take money from Rovers and put it into the coffers of the opposing team, the genius if it
  23. ''But what is odd, with England the joy of a big win (not felt it much) or the sorrow of a tournament loss seems to last longer and run deeper than a similar event with Rovers. Rovers win and losses I get over the happiness or sadness much quicker. '' I'm completely the opposite USA, it would take a lot of time for me to get any say domestic cup final defeat for Rovers out of my system compared to an En-ger-land defeat....everyone to their own I suppose!
  24. Chelsea are turning into the biggest joke since Burnleh fc were formed and thats saying something!......the whole club and setup are completely false. People have a go at Rovers so-called 'Plastic support'(blah, blah, blah) but their neuvo 'fans' are no better as I can remember attendances of around 20K for some games in the early to mid 90's at the Bridge. Comparisons to Jack Walker? dont even go there...Abramovich is on a massive ego trip, nothing more nothing less,he cares not a dot for chelsea's past traditions nor for the feeling or opinion of its support....a dangerous type to have at the helm of any club in my opinion.
