  1. Aye, supplement your argument by suggesting I've never played the game, good one.
  2. You implied he would lose 'the ability to run around at high speed'. That's pace. Do you mean he will lose stamina? Also not guaranteed. You don't see his skill with the ball at his feet then? Can show plenty of clips that prove he has it.
  3. @Roth@StubbsUK Unfortunately this only seems to be mostly fixed. Most of the time it seems to work, but when I click the quote contained in Exiled Rover's post (currently at the top of page 531 of the transfer thread, and quoting windymiller7) it goes to page not found if I use my laptop. When I use my phone, clicking the quote works fine. However, both my phone and laptop crash attempting to click the quote contained in the post at the top of page 530, or the second one down. Very weird. So it's better but it's not fully fixed. I'm struggling to see what the pattern is, as some posts at the top of the pages work just fine, and others crash it, and results seem to vary slightly based on what device I'm using.
  4. That doesn't sound like they're too keen, if they're still deciding. Ash needs to remember the grass isn't always greener.
  5. That's not necessarily true at all. Plenty of players haven't lost pace at 25. It may or may not happen. He will have learnt more about the game in general by then too. His game also involves exceptional footwork and a hefty dose of flair, and if he learns how to use those more effectively then even if he does lose pace at 25 it may not matter. He already has made it. He has 75 Championship appearances, 7 goals and 7 assists at age 20. Even just carrying on like that for 5 years before he supposedly loses his pace is making it. Certainly compared to your non-league claims.
  6. You're welcome, of course, to your utterly blind view of his standing in the game. But any team in League One would take him with open arms, calling him non-league is preposterous. Talking about whether he is good enough for us in the Championship would be a lot less ridiculous. I don't get why people have to jump to extremes when they talk about players.
  7. Utterly ridiculous hyperbole to say Dolan belongs in non-league.
  8. JDT apologised to the fans. Not sure I can remember Mowbray ever doing that, even after the 7-0. It doesn't mean anywhere near as much as a response on the pitch of course, but it's nice to have some common courtesy to the fans again, instead of the disrespectful shit we got from TM at times.
  9. I'm just reflecting on comments I've seen lately about our squad and our transfer needs...and the most ridiculous is definitely that we don't need to sign any more players. Can't remember who said it though.
  10. I feel a 5-3-2 would probably have worked better tonight in hindsight. Probably against Sheff U too. Then again, we simply don't have enough defenders for it to work.
  11. You don't need to tell me, I was saying it before the game.
  12. Wow, all three 'absolute minimums' are wrong IMO. Dolan has shown plenty of times he is capable in this league. I wouldn't put him as a main starter right now, but we have three games a week quite frequently and he'll be needed. Vale should go on loan, but I'd say League 1. Edun has never looked very comfortable at LB. That said, this one I'm coming close to agreeing with, as I'm not rating Pickering. Looking more like we need a new LB tbh, but a squad shouldn't really carry 3 senior LBs who all cost a fee, and I don't see how we shift the current two. I think Styles, as a LWB and midfield option, would probably be best.
  13. To be clear, I'm in no way saying we have been poor all season. Until tonight we have defended doggedly and been clinical in front of goal, both of which abandoned us tonight. The ratio of shots to goals was never going to last too long though, and you can't spend all season defending. We need to be creating more chances and keeping the opposition further away from our penalty area.
  14. A real wakeup call for fans who seemed to think we'd be challenging for automatic promotion this season just because of a good start (with some luck involved...QPR battered us for the first 25 then we dominated and earned that one, Swansea did have the better chances - I watched the extended highlights - and the scoreline flattered us immensely, and WBA we were mostly outplayed but more clinical). The squad is too thin and many of them are fairly untested at this level, and we don't have enough in the tank to play 3 games in a week yet. A mediocre Reading side fully deserving of their win.
  15. The curse of the ex player strikes and I'm tempted to turn this off but I'll endure the suffering. Pickering beaten too easily yet again.
  16. It's far too early to say they're the worst team in the league, and they don't look anywhere near as bad as that, even accounting for how poor we are. One result and 3 games in doesn't make them the worst. We lost 7-0 at home and immediately went on to be the league's form team for months.
  17. That looked a pen to me, though we don't deserve to equalise yet.
  18. Tbh I'd have started Morton tonight instead. Can't expect both Travis and Buckley to be at their best for 3 games in 6 days, the first in horrendous heat.
  19. Nah, not having that, not at all. Probably wouldn't make a top (bottom) ten. Poor though. Very poor.
  20. Well, I hope that's the worst half we have for a long time. If it's not the worst half we have tonight, this will be truly embarrassing.
  21. Very stupid push from BBD. Should be booked for it but complains it was given instead. Looks frustrated. Pickering doesn't look good enough to me. Not been convinced since he came back from injury last season. Edit- BBD then got pissy with a Reading fan. Definitely frustrated. Needs to focus himself.
