Tried to find this Candlin lad's stats. Best I can figure, he has something like 9 appearances for Walsall over the previous two seasons. Only one was a start, against MK Dons, and he came off at half time. The rest were off the bench, with only a couple being around the 65 min mark and the rest being a few mins from the end. No goals, which is fair enough for that amount and consistency of football. The wording of the Walsall tweet (initial loan) implies it will be permanent in Jan. Probably very cheap...whatever has been seem in him must have been seen at youth level.

Interesting to see whether he is just a youth team prospect, or here to let Nutt go on loan...or just to cover for the Samuel loss. Good luck whatever the case, lad.

If you want to steal a team's star player, it's not a good idea to do it at the death like this, especially with no prior warning. It allows them no time to replace. You're going to get reluctance and, at best, higher prices. The end of the window is best used for fringe players, prospects, and players you've chased all window (knowing the other team may have prepared a replacement). At that point you can pressure clubs to take the cash, or finish your poker games.
