  1. Probably...I think it was Stoke, when they were in the Prem? Josh King ran riot and scored 2 or 3.
  2. Leonard. Has to be more worth a try than Vale at this point. I didn't expect it would be Leonard rather than Vale coming on unless we were maybe 3 to the good, I said as much maybe 10 mins before the sub. He went for experience rather than risking youth, and in the circumstances there is some logic to that. But what Vale has experience of at this point is ambling around aimlessly.
  3. Apologies if already posted, but, Leicester fan match report: https://fosseposse.sbnation.com/platform/amp/2023/2/28/23618976/fa-cup-match-report-leicester-city-1-2-blackburn-rovers?fbclid=IwAR0Uf1aJxq8nv05VT8WYwCLY0_OMv_ZBWS13-I5UkIcwuzOssAn9FTwXrqA Always nice when the opposition know they're well beaten. Really proud of the lads tonight! Shame we shrank back a bit once they got their goal, but I don't know how much of that was tactical. And we still battled through it just fine. Very very little to criticise in that performance, and loads to be made up about! Bring that to Ewood against Sheffield United and the impossible may start to look possible!
  4. He's a weird player. I've seen many shit strikers play for Rovers over the years, but I've not seen many anonymous ones. Most of the time you just don't even notice he's on the pitch. That's probably worse than getting in good positions but not being able to finish. On the other hand it leaves me feeling like I don't really know anything about him, and that for all I know he's a surge in form away from being an asset. Not worth persisting with for me though, would rather see Leonard (even if I understand the logic of playing the more experienced player with little time left and only a goal up against a Prem side).
  5. You think half an Old Trafford quarter final crowd wouldn't net us 100k?
  6. Think that's a stretch for the time being. He played well tonight though. Feel like he should have put another of those chances away, mind. Read the space very well tonight.
  7. Heard them loud...I can't say 'and clear', I couldn't tell wtf they were singing half the time, but they were definitely in good voice!
  8. Up to that Leicester goal against the run of play, exceptional. I think the best I've seen us play all season. That first 20 mins ish of the second half was barnstorming. Could have been 4 or 5 up. I'm drunk (little bit of chocolate mulled wine, 15%, tastes great and only 3 quid at the mo from Sainsburys, just to contrast with Mercer's poncy recommendations) but I'm bouncing after that match!
  9. His Sunderland side of course exited in a 4th round replay. Which I believe is actually better than he ever did in his time here?
  10. Yep both definitely count as good cup runs. If the composition of the Prem was decided on cup runs alone, we'd be comfortably promoted. Last 16 and now last 8. When you contrast it to cup runs under Tony as well, it's a ridiculous improvement. That we sit 5th as well (shame Millwall won tonight, but at least it means Millwall lost)...well it's undoubtedly been a good debut season for JDT unless we go all TM death spiral now. The football might not have been vintage, but on balance the results speak for themselves. And until we're an established Prem side, results are all I care about. Edit - even better, Luton equalised! Still 4th
  11. Don't remember his name being mentioned after he came on. Anonymous. JDT is doing a great job overall, but I've no idea what he sees in Vale. And only a bit of an idea what he sees in Morton.
  12. As I was reading this, he gave the ball away unnecessarily when we had possession in their final third, they countered and had a chance. He isn't good enough.
  13. I'm confused. That was offside yeh but shouldn't there have been a VAR check?
  14. Thoroughly undeserved for Leicester. We should be 3 or 4 goals to the good and now we are only 1.
  15. This is a confident Rovers right now. Play like this against Sheff U and we have every chance of winning. Could have up to 5 if our finishing was a touch more clinical/fortunate. Hope JRC is ok.
  16. Tbf, whilst that would surely deliver a bumper crowd, I think it would be asking for trouble. I'm thinking of the sorts of people the last home game in League One attracted, thousands of them were only there to start trouble by invading the pitch. I expect many of those same types would attend, just for a kick off with Burnley fans. Also, you can't charge away fans double what you charge home fans. I think you can't charge them more than your lowest priced equivalent seats.
  17. I think it's more to do with the injuries you mention, players being pulled out of it for the first team and much of the squad used in a lot of games essentially being under-18s. We had a very similar dip in results I think it was 2-3 seasons back, and the next season kicked on again...in fact didn't they start pretty badly last season then surged late on? Lads currently playing in the U21s will be bigger, tougher, more experienced by next season. Think there are still players to come through. Whitehall, Batty, Barnes and Burns from the injury list you mentioned, have all been well regarded at some point or another. Goddard who is out on loan. Gilsenan and Harlock have been well spoken of in the past too. Walker has great technique. And there is still a whole U18 side that I'm largely unfamiliar with.
  18. Finished 3-2 to Fulham. Goals from Walker (penalty) and Saadi for us. Stats suggest a fairly even game.
  19. Be that as it may, it was a poor result and that was my only point. That wasn't a foul on Pickering though for me, or at least it would have been soft. Seen them given but hardly cast iron. Then someone has to put it in too.
  20. Losing 3-1. Really need to start putting some points on the board or there's still a risk of relegation.
  21. Taken in isolation, it certainly was. Drawing at home to the bottom side in the league is a bad result.
  22. It's not lining up the targets that's the problem, it's actually landing them.
