  1. Botham, Warne, Ponting, Hussain, Atherton all saying that Root should bat at 3 in the test. I see James Taylor and Bairstow both scored centuries today for their counties. Maybe bring one of those in at number 5.
  2. Al, My opinion is very different to yours on certain subjects. Its not my fault you cant accept different opinions. On today's Display, pathetic and shambles. Hope Cook rips them apart in the dressing room after the game. Far too many under performed in this test match who played very well in the first test. Bayliss's comment before this game were spot on about Aussies coming back even stronger
  3. I will always be behind he team whoever is playing for the team. when Did I ever said I happy with what is happening? Yet again STOP making claims Abbey that I have NEVER SAID! but yet again that is all you do Abbey. Anyway I wont be replying to any more of your posts/questions Abbey cos you just make Rubbish up to suit your views! You are correct. a lack of first class cricket being played during the Ashes series. on who to bring in? Hales to open with Cook, Bairstow or James Taylor in for Ballance
  4. Yet again Abbey, where have I said that I'm happy keep losing three wickets or more for less than 50? If so show more where I said that then Abbey?
  5. what don't you get Abbey? It was fairly easy to understand
  6. Lyth has got out twice very poor and both times didn't have to play at the ball. I think it might be time for a new opening batsman coming in. Maybe Hales Maybe Wood if we play 2 spinners. I just don't believe Ali is good enough at this stage to be your first choice spinner. I like Ali as a player and his batting is his main strength IMO. Edgbaston has been a spinning wicket this summer I believe Still fully behind the team and that's why I have bought tickets for test matches. I will get behind any England player who play for the team.
  7. so do I. I wouldn't get rid of Bell. But Lyth and Ballance have to get a score in the second innings if they fail maybe time for a change. But I might be tempt to bring in Finn or Rashid in the next test depending on the type of wicket we play on
  8. I totally agree on this. can see this being a boring test match with England matching/coming close to Aussie score. the pitch is slow and far too flat for test matches
  9. I agree there K-Hod that Ali's Bowling was good. Aussies need to make couple of changes to their team. They are missing Ryan Harris badly. I can see Watson and Stark(injured) been left out with Siddle and Marsh coming in. The England bowlers were great and they stuck to the plan for each batsman.
  10. Very good win for England. The players were very good. Everyone played their part. Aussies need to make some changes tho.
  11. I agree it should have been more. Also another thing is that England were positive today. On Sunday it is suppose to be Heavy Rain in Cardiff so it might wreck the end of the test
  12. 411 is a decent lead? Its an excellent lead. Going to be very hard for the Aussies to chase it. We were attacking and Positive with our batting.
  13. lead is 400 now cant see them getting them what a GREAT shot by Wood. hitting Lyon for 6
  14. 383 runs lead now. Pitch spinning now. Good conditions for Ali. So far so good for England this test match
  15. said this before and KP wont be playing for England. so lets get behind the current team and support them. looking good for a 1st test win so far
  16. so is that why KP was texting the opposition players about his Captain during a TEST MATCH? You seems to have forgotten all about this incident
  17. one inning? is that it? why not play a FULL COUNTY SEASON and scoring over 1500 runs and put pressure on Strauss, Bayliss and Cook to select him. what I do if I was KP? play the full county season and score runs and NOT go and play in the twenty20 comps around the world.
  18. Cook form in the last 5 previous test matches. his scores are:- 75, 56 England v New Zealand Leeds 29 May 2015 Test # 2163 16, 162 England v New Zealand Lord's 21 May 2015 Test # 2162 105, 4 England v West Indies Bridgetown 1 May 2015 Test # 2160 76, 59* England v West Indies St George's 21 Apr 2015 Test # 2158 11, 13 England v West Indies North Sound 13 Apr 2015 Test # 2157 so his Batting average from those 5 test matches is 64.22. and IF you want to included his test scores from this current test match aswell then his Batting average is 55.45 HARDLY out of form is he???
  19. that is what you have interpretation Abbey not me. you have just ignored my points about him not playing a full season of County Cricket and scoring loads of runs. but yet again I'm not surprised by this. BACK TO THE ASHES. Bell starting to look like the Proper Ian Bell we all know about
  20. lead of 217 so far over Australia and if we got over 300 run lead then I can't see Australia getting it. The same KP who back stabbed his captain during a test series. is KP playing county cricket and scoring lot of runs? no he is not. he playing twenty20 cricket. if he wanted his place back then he should playing cricket and scoring lot of runs and putting pressure on Strauss, Whittaker and Bayliss to pick him due to weight of runs. instead he's playing in the Caribbean PL. says it all IMO he should have been kick out of the team in 2012 and never allowed back in it.
  21. Nobody in the England set up wants KP back in the team. Nottingham and Hampshire got rid of him in the end. Wonder why? Did Bayliss want him back in the team? It appears not. Strauss doesnt. Plus where is KP playing cricket atm? In the Caribbean premier League. Its about time we all forget about KP playing for England. Back to the Ashes Michael Clarke has just taken a great catch to get rid of Lyth
  22. Forget Pietersen. Hes gone. Accept it and move on. Cook is England leading run scorer in Test Cricket EVER!!! lets not forget that. Bell need some runs badly. Now in
  23. Very impressive today were England bowlers. Lets hope Cook and Lyth both get good scores in the second innings
