  1. To be fair most signings have tended to be announced nearer to 5pm. Wish they'd hurry up though. On hols and don't want to take my phone to the pool. Be dark at this rate!!
  2. Ha you can't catch me out. You gave him as a permanent signing!
  3. Has to be one of Chapman or Armstrong or they've got the wrong end of the stick with the agent Benno thing! Armstrong back on loan with an agreed purchase fee would be my guess - plus the Chelsea lad.
  4. Young lad who clearly has talent. Type who can get round the back of teams. Seemed to integrate well with the rest of the players. Only going to improve but doubt over an injury and so was likely within our budget. Who else do we have on our bench who can change a game? Gone on to have a good pre season and looks on verge of Boro bench at least. Missed the boat IMO.
  5. Then he can't have much of an eye for attacking players.
  6. Yes, I'd say so. No winger in there. Now if you added Chapman or Armstrong to that list as a permanent then that would be as good as I could have imagined
  7. I get what you're saying and squad fillers are just that however, take Dack out of the permanent signings and overall, they aren't great. Loan signings on the other hand have on the whole been very successful. Devils advocate for a second. If Mowbray does have a reasonable transfer/wage pot, perhaps he is being spoiled for choice and is bottling a decision...so opting for loans instead?
  8. Ok, Clutching at straws time now... Rovers have tweeted: It’s set to be a busy week in the #Rovers media department, so we’ve recruited a familiar face to lend a helping hand. Let’s get to work, #AgentBenno! Bennett has been using his AgentBenno tag when asked to get Chapman and Armstrong back on twitter. So they must be signing this week...right? Followed by the next tweet pushing Season Tickets!
  9. The only logical conclusion is that the money isn't there to bring in good enough players.
  10. Not sure you can add Leutwiler, Samuel, Nuttall and Bell to that list. Jury is out on those - Samuel poor overall. The other 3 haven't really featured enough. Over time they may be a success but not presently. Look at it this way. 80 % of his loans were successful...probably because they were a better quality of player than we had. The standard of player we should be adding permanently upon promotion.
  11. Its not rebuilding though. The attacking end of the pitch has been neglected since Gestede, Rhodes and King left. Our only decent striker is a 32 year old who struggles to play a full 90 and has been known to let his fitness drop. We need permanent players up top.. Why the helll would we not loan a squad filling CB?
  12. He's said all along about an A and b list etc and talked as if he is still hopeful of his A list.. But the players in so far - and linked -go against all the rhetoric about wide players, strikers and older players with champ experience. Trust Tony as genuinely wanting the best for the club - yes. Trust Tony not to screw up this transfer window - jury well and truly out. *If Chapman was available cheap, then passing that up is just bizzarre IMO.
  13. Having watched the likes of Mckenzie, Archibald, Shearer, Bellamy, Sutton, Tugay, Ripley, Moran, Cole, Jansen, Santa Cruz, Benni Mac etc over my life time... ...I'm not sure a couple of lads from City constitute signing quality! But hey ho. Just highlights where we are!
  14. Read an article about Nmecha - him talking about moving up to the 1st team squad last season. Learnt alot coming up against Vincent Company in training. He could get an extra touch at youth level as the centrebacks were not so physically imposing. Came off a bit battered and bruised against Company! I like the sound of the lad but loan is no good long term as I assume he would be well out of our price bracket. We need a striker in that is good enough to replace Graham at the end of the season. Whether that's good enough immediately or one to develop over the season - and it must be a permanent deal. I am assuming the CB is with a view to replacing Mulgrew next season.
  15. German market has been undervalued for years... He may have been on our radar 3 years ago under Lambert but Hasn't our scouting system been revamped under Mowbray? -yet no links to any foreign markets at all. There are always players out there but we don't seem to have been switched on at finding them since/before Allardyce.
  16. But we can't afford to 'take a risk'. We need to be lining up a replacement for Graham. To replace his quality -which let's be fair, is way below the Bellamy and McCarthy's of this world means we need to spend a couple of million at least. Yes we got Dack comparatively cheap (although I am sure there were substantial clauses) however he was a proven performer in the last year of his contract. Bare in mind that strikers traditionally cost more. The nearest similar player would be Jack Marriott who has moved for significantly more than £750k..
  17. Worrying that a CB seems to be a permanent signing. Would have thought winger and striker more of a priority.
  18. Not really. Our scouting network doesn't seem set up to find and attract the Sambas and Nzonzis of this world. Dominic Samuel is the level that less than Dack's fee gets you these days. The market has moved on.
  19. Not that hard to find. There's one at Newcastle who's pretty decent and available!
  20. Oh I completely agree. Need some physicality up top on a permanent basis. City lad looks like a decent Loan though.
