  1. Let's be honest. We know what a shit show we are at getting deals over the line. Rothwell will go and we'll scrap around for a couple of loans we've never heard of. See this Giles rumour And the money will go down the sofa again. Prove me wrong Mowbray.
  2. Luxury tax- that's what I read. That would suit clubs with wealthy owners. Venkys would fall over themselves to be seen to pay it. 😂
  3. Yes, me too. No I'm not sure he would play the Rothwell role either - but he potentially could - just like Rothwell didn't look like he could play the Rothwell role until this season 😂
  4. Where is Lenny Cirino (sp) is he injured? He looked ok pre season. Certainly wouldn't be the worst shout at LWB for a few games. Till Pickering fit.
  5. Isn't FFP changing? I'm sure I read that they are looking at changing rules across europe (although it may only effect the prem teams) Something about clubs being fined for going over ffp but no other deduction or sanction. That way teams with wealthy owners can decide the level of investment. So hypothetically Rovers could go over by £10 mil and be fined another £10 mil. As long as that is met by the owners, no further sanctions. The owner wealth/commitment basically dictates your FFP limit. Something along those lines - sounds like it would benefit elite clubs so probably something in it. Would also probably benefit the likes of us. It would certainly mean the owners can't hide behind ffp - if they wanted to go for it - they could. *Sorry for off topic post.
  6. Of all the players I've seen this season, Dembele at Posh is the attacking version of Rothwell. Pace to burn and can carry the ball from deep. May not put the work in defensively (not seen enough of him but neither did JR initially). He can play across the front 3 as well. If we want to keep a similar system and drop in a like for like player, he could be the closest. 25yr old, available (He's turned down a move to big club apparently). Wants Bournemouth but they won't meet the price (apparently). Knows the championship and you'd hope he would view us as a decent step up. Would be a good fit for this current rovers side.
  7. Wonder if it's a punctured lung again. Didn't he do that earlier this year?
  8. That would be a dream scenario if we replace Rothwell with those 2. Can't see it for one minute.
  9. Can't we get more loans but you can only have 5 in the match day squad? May have made that up though🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. Good point under the circumstances. Tricky place to go with half your team out. Massive window for us now. 2-3 astute signings to cobble through and 4-5 players to return end of Feb for the run in.
  11. Butterworth Should be sent to the under 23s for the rest of the season.
  12. Hope to god we get a clean sheet here because that's a bonkers sub by tinkerman.
  13. https://www.brentfordfc.com/news/2022/january/mads-bidstrup-fc-nordsjalland-loan/ Announced this morning.
  14. I read in the LT that TM warning owners/fans not to get carried away. Last time he did that was after promotion when it appeared they wanted to throw some money at it. I imagine we may well be looking at better players (especially with a very sellable Diaz in the summer). Our ability to get any over the line will be the issue. Loan to buy like the Dutch lad are the perfect model for us.
  15. I'd be popping him in the reserves till summer - unless Bournemouth pay big. I'd also be ensuring a defenders knee found his back at the soonest opportunity.
  16. Current now counts for nothing at the end of the season. If we are currently the best team then - we'll be going straight up. However... This is Rovers mate. Without a shadow of a doubt there will be some major hiccups before the end of the season. So if you offered me 6th now - which is as good as 3rd - I'd take it! Way above season expectations.
  17. I'd snap your hands off now for 6th place and a shot at the playoffs after the last 11 years.
  18. This season reminds me a little of the league one season. Except this time we are doing the Shrewsbury. Over performing based on expectations. Picking up wins when the odds are against. Bouncing back when we do lose. Hopefully, we don't tail off right at the death!
