It was so strange, the switch to 3-5-2 at halftime seemed to be working to an extent before Rodwells clanger/slip. We just weren't moving the ball quick enough, and very little off the ball movement. If Mowbray really wants to play that going forward then a proper left wing back in January is a must. One thing for sure the 4-5-1 we play is NOT working. Not enough soilders in the middle of the park? That's been our problem this year, Evans and Smallwood trying to do the same job. You need those three in there to be creative and make things happen. Key here is for Armstrong and Brereton to actually move in space, and play in the channels.

Well Dack is off for sure, has played with zero effort the past two games, wonder if something was agreed over the international break. Thought it couldn’t get much worse after Preston, but it got a lot worse. Smallwood, nice guy but not a footballer. Williams would have been lucky to get back on the bus if I was the manager. The rest weren’t much better. The team is an absolute shambles right now, and I’m not really sure how it’s gonna get fixed.

My team for Wigan: Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Reed Rodwell Evans Rothwell Graham Brereton This gives a target man to aim for and has Bell and Nyambe bombing forward. More direct. Dack has a seat as I thought his overall perfomance at Preston was very poor. Armstrong to come off the bench with his pace. Bennett been poor for too long and I hate seeing him play wide right in the 4231. Lenihan and Mulgrew need a shake, that was unacceptable, Lenihan in particular has had multiple clangers this season. That first goal was embarrassing play from an international centre half. Need a CB for competition in the window.
