  1. Success will be staying up next season,Mowbray could sign Messi and Ronaldo and we wouldn't touch the top 6 with him in charge. It's not a long term fix agreed, but I just want us to get through next season and still be in the league.Let the new man build his own squad as Mowbray is on borrowed time.
  2. Most teams in the league make loan signings. Swansea made the playoffs this year and year before and had quite a few younger loan players. If they are of the right quality which Tosin,Harwood Bellis and Elliott were then their age shouldn't be an issue. It's not my preferred route but we don't have a pot to piss in and the current manager should be gone not allowed to bring in permanent players
  3. Maybe the money will be used to get others signed up to new deals . It's a terrible situation, but there is absolutely no guarantee that Armstrong will be as prolific next season. In the short term we are obviously a way worse off without Armstrong but I really do not see how we can let him go for nothing in 12 months time when the books are telling us we need substantial cash brought in
  4. Do you want Mowbray spending it? I'm fairly sure he won't be here after this season.Id rather we kept our money until the following summer. IL be satisfied staying up next year even if by just a point. But we can't give Mowbray the funds to leave us with more ageing players who a new manager will struggle to get rid of. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part but I once out of contract Mowbray will be gone as will Venus and Waggott
  5. That's the biggest issue with the club finances handing out contract extensions and handing out lucrative contracts to ageing and players with history of injury issues. We can't afford to give contracts that our assets will sign now because Mowbray decided to sign up the "men" in the dressing room. The amount of money wasted has been absolutely ridiculous
  6. How have we made a profit on player trading since 2019? Who did we sell?
  7. All this I agree with. Its the funding part I don't agree with you over and I do think the owners are willing to put money in.
  8. Whatever way you look at it , wages, signing on fees, transfer fees we are on the threshold of breaking ffp rules and we have had a healthy budget since our return to the championship. Mismanaged yes but money has been spent
  9. Why bother. Ffp isn't real and signing on fees shouldn't be included in transfer spend according to JHRover
  10. I give up your right and the accounts and everyone else is wrong ffs This is like your belief that the Venkys wouldn't allow defensive signings to be made.At the time on the match thread you would be criticising and blaming Mowbray for our defensive frailties and on the transfer thread you were saying that the owners don't allow money to be spent on the defence. The club is mismanaged but the level of finance being put into the club has been adequate
  11. Even if all that isn't true you can't say that we don't spend money when we clearly do. The owners have been putting in the max they are allowed to.According to you they brought Gallagher and Brererton in as they knew in a couple of years Armstrong's contract would be down to 1 year and we can sell below market value. One question Iv asked you ,you haven't answered is what do we do next summer if Armstrong stays this year?As much as you want to keep denying it we are on the threshold of breaking ffp rules and without a big sale could very well end up in an embargo next summer. So what's the plan for next summer if we stupidily let Armstrong leave for nothing?
  12. Do you think the free transfers Ayala,Holtby ,Johnson etc cost nothing? They were on higher wages before coming here signing on fees would have been given What about the multiple loan players we got them for nothing aswell I presume? You conveniently ignore these signings when adding up our transfer spend to sit with your point of thinking that we don't spend money
  13. We have sold Raya in the last few years. Even Rhodes that you mentioned in previous posts he wanted out a long time before the move was sanctioned by the owners. Would I rather stay in the championship and lose Armstrong on a free next summer?Like IV said to you already we will be in a worse position next summer as we will have nobody of high value to sell and we could go down next season instead of this. Absolutely no guarantee Armstrong bangs in the goal at a similar rate as last season. He wants to leave something you don't get. We have spent money so stop coming out with bullshit that we haven't.
  14. No we don't but what's your point? You continuously make out that we don't spend money when we clearly have? Armstrong isn't signing a new deal, the club needs money being brought in and letting our only high value asset leave on a free would be stupid beyond belief if offers of 15+ are in
  15. It's the position we are In.When we have nobody to sell next year and no decent manager will join because we can't spend any money and are facing another battle at the bottom what will you be saying then? Don't think anyone wants Armstrong sold but it is the situation we are in.We can't be letting our only high value asset at the moment see his contract out
  16. Must have imagined 7 million being spent on Brererton and 5 on Gallagher, not to mention the raft of high cost free transfers. Exactly other clubs sell players which we have to do with Armstrong
  17. The club needs money being brought in.We don't sell Armstrong and he leaves on a free then we won't be able to do anything in the market next season and will have nobody who can bring in the transfer fee that Armstrong can command this season. So you will just be prolonging it.He needs to be sold this season and it's silly to think otherwise. These teams that you go on about spending big money sell players to fund it.
  18. I disagree no championship player who has never been tested in the premier League and who only has a year left on his deal and wants to leave is worth 25 million. I do not believe that Southampton will pay the same money for Armstrong as they got for selling Ings.
  19. Mate Ings left for 25 Million.Armstrong is nowhere near as good.We will not get 25 million. Also let's not forget this story is coming from Alan Nixon
  20. Is the ex Preston North End physio replacing him or does Mowbray have a mate looking for work?
  21. Especially since they have already sold Buendia to Villa and Cantwell being linked with a move to Villa their two most creative players. If we get a deal worth 18 million for a player with only a year left on his contract then it's a good deal I think. Ings had only 1 year left in his contract and moved for £25 million according to sky sports and he is a proven premier league player where Armstrong is not and is why I thought waiting for 20 million + bids for Armstrong was pie in the sky
