  1. We beat them in normal time. VAR is going to kill football as a spectator sport even more quickly if it is used incorrectly. Watching players, manager and fans celebrate to then be laughed at by opposition fans is going to get very old.
  2. England once again showing that they don’t have the mental strength to come back after being robbed by the officials. (I quite admire how they were up front about it by selecting a ref with the name Turpin though). UEFA will be delighted. The mayor of Guimaraes less so.
  3. Henry Winter turning into a 2019 snowflake. Nothing as simple as being the opposition’s best player, of course. It’s all about hating Saint Virgil. I actually though Winter has more about him than such crass barrel scraping.
  4. The most depressing thing about this kind of “story” is that it reminds you that if Venkys ever did receive a genuine offer they would still refuse!

  6. Quotes Mail and Sun but nothing on their sites. Next.
  7. Sharpe will look very foolish very quickly if he starts printing hearsay that ends up being unsubstantiated. Chances are that we have made enquiries but that he will choose elsewhere. As for Jagielka, an emotional return to the Blades seems more likely as they will now be able to afford his wages. https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/phil-jagielka-sheffield-united-stoke-2941719
  8. I don’t believe the hype either but, unless you were Blackburn Rovers, the first 12 years of the Premier League were a lot more dull than the last 12.
  9. Utrecht’s new manager played a big part in it though. He definitely needs to become Baggies manager at some point.
  10. Newell’s Old Boys new Umbro halved kit (with crap photoshop badge for comparison)
  11. It’s a good point but it might just be a case of opportunity knocks. He does need to follow up though by unearthing a Samba or a Friedel - or even a Pedersen or Olsson.
  12. When you say overreacting it looks like you mean there are more posts from naysayers than delighted fans. That’s not an overreaction it’s a number of reactions. You then go on to say that he doesn’t inspire you! Although he isn’t what I would call a priority can see the merits in such a signing. He is a player that Mowbray will know (trust/loyalty factor), he has bags of experience and should be a good influence in the dressing room and he is/was a quality footballer. In the mid-to-late 80s we had many an aged former pro come here: Ossy Ardilles, Kevin Moran, Frank Stapleton, Steve Archibald, etc. The problem we have is that in recent times, Murphy (spit), Etuhu, Whittingham, Greer, Wes Brown - have all been dismal failures.
  13. He hears a lot from his sauces! (Bowery, not Joe)
  14. Typo. Meant ‘early June’ - which was the timescale in the post I quoted.
  15. Trust me, Tugay spent a lot longer than you.
