  1. We really need a recognisable first team player with Championship experience who can displace one of our current regulars. Our squad isn’t up to it so some of our subs need to go and be replaced on the bench by some of our current starters.
  2. There are quite a few Ben Breretons listed on Fb...
  3. Here’s a name to keep an eye out for in the future... Adil Aouchiche. No good for Mowbray fans as he’s only 16 but he’s just scored a hat trick for France in the U17 Euros, 8 goals in his last four games including one against England. He’s at PSG so won’t be under the radar but he looks a real player. A midfielder too apparently! Edit: make that 4 - just scored a pen. 10 goals in last 6 matches.
  4. Did anything ever come out about what really happened. There was news of a scuffle but later Barton denied being the aggressor.
  5. Cheers for that. Hate him or hate him, that line about “taking the ball off better players than him and giving it to better players than him - and making a career out of it” (which I expect he is regurgitating) is quite a good motivator for average players. Might well give that a watch. Enjoyed the Sunderland one.
  6. Personally I’d keep him and give him a deal that protects our investment. Don’t think he is going to be challenging the first team just yet.
  7. I think it was aimed at the club rather than you tbf.
  8. Not sure what this post adds fella. He didn’t need to post anything at all. Call me cynical but footballers use social media for a reason.
  9. Profiteering once more though. The engineering, even for exits or safety rails, will necessitate some kind of structural obstruction. ”Stick some seats in there anyway”.
  10. Good point, but equally we could play the U23s and fringe players on the Saturday at Blackpool and then the first team on Sunday at Ewood against Feyenoord. Well, I can dream!
  11. This is why I switch off when I hear the phrase “integrity of the game”. Genuine fans priced out or in debt because UEFA prefer to give rich glory hunters the chance to go, closely followed by the touts. Brown envelopes much? Priority should be to fans who have bought CL game tickets this season - and offered at a similar price. Corporate seats on the same basis.
  12. Wonder if we’ll have an Eredivisie side over at Ewood as the curtain raiser. Or maybe it’ll be Premier League giants, Brighton.
  13. Mowbray made some very bold statements in the last couple of weeks. The concern was that it was all talk and no substance. A deal for Conway would show that it was just empty words. This isn’t a retirement village it’s a football club in great need of promotion to the PL.
  14. This year’s Champions of Champions across the whole of Europe didn’t even win their domestic league last season. The money involved in the CL makes your statement self-fulfilling. If the Red Bull Salzburg had CL money for the last 10 years they would be able to improve their quality by attracting better players. Celtic have won 8 title on a row and can no longer even compete with the fourth placed English side. That’s not what this competition used to be about. Like I said, the money-men won.
  15. Such a bizarre concept. It should just be league winners but the money men win the debate.
  16. If Chelsea win the Europa, what happens to the Champions League place given they’ve already qualified through third place?
  17. Ah but would any of them play for £5 per week and a packet of Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls?
  18. Rochdale, Rangers. Easy mistake to make. ??‍♂️
