I think all that happened this season compared to last is we were ahead on like for like sales earlier on before they reduced back down. Obviously the fat controller put his own unique spin on that.

Hull away was one of my first away treks under our own steam with my mate who was a bit older and just passed his test. Mid week game (we always seemed to play them midweek) freezing fog, mist, we nearly went on the wrong side against the traffic on the Humber Bridge - he'd only turned 17 then passed his crash course test a couple of weeks earlier ! After the near death experience we parked on a petrol garage forecourt after seeing the floodlights. Turned out we were still about two miles away and when we got back we obviously had a parking ticket. Thank god clamping hadn't become fashionable just then. As for the game i think we won 3-1 and Garner got a couple at the other end although we couldn't see for the fog. About 500 Rovers fans there in great voice with the usual array of songs (whatever happened to all that ?) We didn't see any thugs or get booted up the arse thankfully, the crowd was very sparse and Hull always seemed such a cold soulless non footballing place. Good memories though and i think it was almost identical the season after except we lost convincingly and Tony Finnigan got into a row with some Rovers fans. -
It would just be like him if they go and win the next 2 or 3 now that's how it tends to work. What he doesn't have to live off there for the next 3 years is a promotion, something that carried him through a lot of lean times and talking nonsense here.

After two super positive home results and a tremendous effort at Boro i hope we don't revert to a Wigan or Reading style performance. Both which were largely down to risky negative sit back keep ball tactics, i still fear we have those in us and try that here and it'll get nothing. Vital we have a go and get the first goal, i'd snatch hands off for a draw right now but iv'e a gut feeling... Hull 3 Rovers 1 -
Isn't Mowbray a head coach up there working under a DoF ? If so he might not get his own way when the strikers are back, someone might be calling him in and telling him in no unvetain terms Sunderland fans love their strikers to be strikers.

Without doubt he is growing into the Championship reincarnation of Brad -

Yes the manager at the time and the owners blew it between them in more ways than one. -

He seems to be getting in the middle a lot more these days and certainly has a spring in his step both he and Brereton were immense today. Absolutely knackered the pair of them it's just a pity we lack so much when having to take them off, Hedges too was good but i thought he looked leggy from the off. No surprise he pulled up. -
I really can't see why not that second half was crying out for something different we ended up so much under the cosh for the second game in succession because there is nothing right where Dack should be. Surely you aren't buying into this myth being peddled by some that he is now this immobile lump whose never chased a ball or run a channel since he came back ? No guarantees he'd have made a difference obviously and i can always see the sense in Dolan coming on but Vale, no disrespect to the lad, shouldn't be near these games either.
-
A foot on the ball, a killer pass, some more presence to give them something to think about. We allowed them to push us further and further back simply because we had nothing up there. I agree a pacy striker or a target man is what this squad needs but we don't have them, we do though have Dack who is still one of the best players in this league.
-
We won again today so no room for needless complaints but for me the struggle of that 2nd half highlighted yet again what we are missing that he could bring. We simply will not get away with conceding over half the park every week and not killing games off. Aside from Dacks absence JDT doesn't seem to be able to change it up when we are seriously wilting. He's literally just relying on the defence and keeper holding out then changing the front men when they have run themselves into the ground. It's great whilst it's working but it won't last out much longer today was a great win and team performance but it was also a red flag.
-
Yep he's likely to be judged on results and table position and team performances up there. Those are the two of the things he said he wasn't bothered about here as long as HE felt individuals were performing and developing. Usually said it after a defeat where we'd had 65% possession.

We got away with that today make no mistake, Kaminsky should have his own pages in a Marvel comic, unreal. Best keeper display there since Brad was in the sticks. -
I doubt very much Mowbray is racist it's just way too easy to start chucking that about these days. What he is is just very old fashioned and only comfortable with characterless nice lads around the place who'll treat him like an uncle. He only drinks tea and his favourite band is Coldplay, i think sums everything up perfectly.

There aren't many nailed on 3 points in this league especially when playing another solid well established Championship side. Another tough game today that will likely be decided by a touch of class from Brereton or someone or a mistake. -
That should be a given anyway and there is nothing whatsoever to say Dack hasn't bought into that. He's being frozen out on orders from higher up the food chain more than likely and the head coach has to do the dirty work. The way some of you lot turn on players without any shred of evidence it's justified is embarrassing.
-
How about maybe he's training his arse off and still not getting 15 ins when we are losing or winning and hes asked why and got a non polite answer ? There are several different scenarios possible here but of course it's always the player assumes the blame at Rovers.
-
Yes you've got to start as you mean to go on so fair play to JDT for sticking to his guns but if the team comes first it's about getting points however using whoever is the best available option. Dack is being paid good money whether he is used or sat at home so the latter is a bit silly, team comes first so bullets have to be bitten on both sides at times. I always think about the Wimbledon documentary Crazy Gang where it was touched on how Fashinu and Sanchez hated each other. They had a scrap Fash showed he was the boss so they didn't speak again on or off the pitch but they still went out and did the business scoring goals and setting each other up. Proper men, are there any left ?

He's is absolutely right it though shouldn't take Fred from Darwen to suggest these things to a 300k a year CEO or a well paid ticket office manager. -
I'd assume when a player is out with a serious long term injury there is insurance to cover some if not all of their wages until they start kicking a ball again. So i doubt he's cost a million and a half for nothing this past few years.
-
It's not the running around that's been the issue it's the not using him at all when those who've been running around are knackared as are the opposition defenders. There are several games recently where its been crying out for someone like him to come on. We have grafters up top which is good but they have shown they can't do it game in game playing twice a week. That's understandable but we need a plan B and we are so short on quality in the final third sometimes apart from BBD it's painful to see. As for Mowbray he knows exactly what he's doing, sending a message to Sunderlands DOF.
-
Been obvious from the off this has been on the cards. Crazy to lose a player of his talent and replace him with cheaper water carriers but i guess with the injuries those upstairs have decided he's better off off our books asap. The usual defenders of all things stupid will be along soon to defend the club.

Brum have sold 2k plus there is pay on the day. Really odd bunch these lot they never used to bring many up here especially in the Prem but now they seem to have two or three thousand every visit. They should have big support obviously but they are still an odd bunch, however it should see another 15k crowd which is good and the bigger the away support the more our lot and team seem to get up for it. He might need managing differently and he might struggle with intense day to day training but there are ways around that. Some are not taking into account he isn't 'just' back from injury he's played last season, pre season and in games this season. He's had some good spells, scored the odd goal and set up goals. He's fit enough to play but he is being completely ignored and whilst yes we are doing well there is still desperate need for a player of his ability to be involved. So this goes far deeper than just being a post injured player so it's about time there was some real honesty.
