  1. JDT is a novice compared to Coyle though and hes shown enough already to escape that kind of comparison. He just needs to get to grips with the facts that what might work at home to the likes of Peterborough won't work away to the likes of Cardiff and Wigan. They knew the other night we'd be keeping the ball at the back so just jumped in pressed us high and went for every ball in the middle where we were light. Pretty basic stuff and the hard work and persistence of that paid off when they finally pounced on one of the numerous dithering ponderous attempts at this style went their way.
  2. Yes we have more capability in this squad pound for pound compared to then and the different leagues but it is being overlooked in favour of trying to drill into them a different football style. Allardyce always plays a certain way based on percentages first wherever he goes but what he found here was the nearest squad suited to it from his Bolton days. JDT seems to be intent on carrying on Mowbrays style with added football in our own box and just like TM there isn't half enough focus on using the talents we do have to suit the best of their ability. This over riding desire to try and develop players and create 'footballers' rather than go after wins and try and get out of this league. Just WTF are they all so afraid of at this club that if the play offs or promotion did happen it would be a by product of something else rather that a real target or goal. Almost as if it would get in the way if it happened now in the near future instead of at the end of some fantasy journey sometime in the future.
  3. It isn't bad and it's becoming very Sam Allardyce in terms of home v away results. It's less palatable when you look at the away performances though rather than the end results. You won't get results unless you have the right approach, desire and game management.
  4. We are always a project to managers because we are a project of some sort to the owners, a money losing accounting/advertising project. They are employing people and telling the their 'vision' for the club which is all based on a jam tomorrow scenario. If they employed someone with the remit of top 6/promotion as soon as possible and backed them accordingly we might actually see someone put the foot on the gas. There's a reason Mowbray got away with spinning his yarns for years unchallenged and it's the same now it all starts from the top.
  5. It's probably over his head anyway i can't accept he's daft enough to not recognise Dacks talent, something else is at play here.
  6. It's clear they are getting frustrated with it and each other as they give the ball away so often when trying to play forwards.
  7. Was considering driving up for this one but having a rethink after that non event last night. Don't mind travelling a hundred miles and spending a small fortune but losing as long we turn up with the intention of having a go at some point. Doubt there'll be more than 5/600 there. Boro 2 Rovers 0
  8. Funnily enough i was talking about just the same thing with someone last night. It's what i feared might happen after he had success in a lesser league with one of its biggest best backed clubs. I remember some of Bergs early games being very neat quick football but we ran out of steam very quickly once teams starting jumping on us first. He also wasn't afraid to throw raw players in but began suffering similar cock ups costing games although to be fair to him he had zero backing whilst he was here.
  9. Alongside starting loan players in front of your own which also goes against the increasing squad value theory. Why such an emphasis at this club on developing players first and foremost, then losing them for nothing. When BBD leaves that will be 4 gone and circa 7 million in the minus section of that particular journey. Only balanced out by a similar amount combined from the Armstrong profit and Raya jumping ship. The only real way for a club like this to reset the books and take a step towards becoming a stable Prem club is to go for it and get there in the first place. Then when the inevitable happens after one season reinvest the parachute money wisely and keep the wages in line with that extra income. Otherwise anything else is just pure water treading and we aren't even a sustainable Championship club really yet. That surely has to be the first aim before we can even think about the rest. What a chance was blown last season.
  10. They didn't need to be bully boys at all last night though that is the hardest bit to swallow.
  11. You don't keep leaving a guy like him on the bench when you need goals. It just cannot be a footballing decision and it is taking the piss out of fans now. I pointed out to Sharpe he might want to directly ask JDT just what is really going on there because supporters aren't stupid so don't treat them that way. I'd expect to see a dinosaur walking down the M65 before he dare ask anything like that though. I'd say they are praying someone comes in with 500k for him in January and he's off the books. His agent will no doubt be sounding out any potential interest as we speak.
  12. The worry is that when something finally gives (and it will) it's more likely to be a run of defeats than wins. Teams will work us out same thing happened last season and we were stronger than we are now. It's most annoying because we shooting ourselves in the foot and wasting a lot of the quality we do have. Point me to one player this season whose strengths we play to ?
  13. I'm happy to cut them slack because they try but just don't fit what he seems to want to do Szmodics is chasing shadows and Hirst is just too weak. He's also another big lumbering forward farting about out wide when there is nobody making runs in the middle to get on the end of the odd cross. Basically the pair of them are just pale imitations of Dack and Gallagher both who struggle themselves at times with unbalanced systems. So to expect these two to be better is fanciful, to see them starting before the real pair is plain stupid.
  14. We are looking at starting next season without him, Gallagher and obviously BBD and if the likes of Hirst, Szmodics and similar are the cheaper wage replacement we could be in for a rough old time. Seems to me the 'project' is get rid of all the higher earners.
  15. Lowe, Benson and Johnson are still there so they must be having some input. JDT brought 2 in i think besides himself so that's 6 and that's a big staff but i doubt they are all singing from the same hymn sheet. It's the same old stuff it always was except more emphasis on playing it around and in our own box the rest of the team has no cohesion or balance is is just feeding off scraps. Hirst, Gallagher, Szodics, Dolan etc just can play the type of quick passing and possession he wants they aren't the right types that is obvious. Every now and then a move will come off but largely it's awful and we just give it away first or second pass at most.
  16. Balls to him he's swerved us twice now as far as i'm aware. What JDT needs is a kick up the arse from Greg Broughton and maybe a close look at the coaching staff because all this resembles being stuck between Mowbrays tactics and whatever these overseas coaches are trying to implement. Which seems to be nothing more than putting all the emphasis on pissing around with it at the back.
  17. He can talk about projects all he likes but whatever it is he's trying away from home doesn't work in this league with these players and never will. It's a cop out and an excuse for not having a go then rolling it out when we lose. At the end of the day it is 11 v 11 against a side in lge 1 last season and who our squad is stronger than yet we literally hand the game to them from start to finish. Serious lack of idea and leadership again on and off the park and a real worrying lack of desire and fight to actually get a result. Also just how is persisting with piss weak kids on loan from other clubs in front of our own actually putting value into the squad ? Another bullshit yarn that doesn't stack up when you really look at it. Very angry tonight it was another no show and paying fans deserve better than this tripe, it's ok when we get the win obviously but with another away game coming up it's almost a gimme we'll see the same again.
  18. Injuries, suspensions, poor Jan recruitment and tactical tombola kicked in !
  19. Wow people get down and angry in all directions when we play awful and lose then get elated when we win, who'd have thought that. Must be a unique thing to BRFCS.
  20. I'd forgotten about that Cardiff game must've wiped it from the memory banks but yes if anything showed those scumbags were at it with the betting markets that was it.
  21. Should be 800+ so a decent effort by them and will probably nudge it over the 11.5k mark 🤨
  22. If they are going to give Burnley a 7k allocation or thereabouts they should stick the price all over the ground at 25 quid. Fill the place up and lets have a real derby atmosphere the extra tickets sold cover the extra policing instead of this lazy attitude of limited high price tickets and empty seats. They can still leave plenty segregation in the corners to keep east Lancashire's unwashed at bay if they are getting beat. Remember the cup game at Ewood ? That's the way all these games should be for gods sake we used to have Man U, Liverpool, Newcastle in there every season alongside visits from the likes of Celtic. Everybody coped fine the odd bit of bother aside.
  23. At home to Millwall in the cup under Appleton and absolute travesty of an 'effort' on live tv in what should have been a do or die kind of game. The crowd was paltry but people knew exactly what was coming which says a lot. Numerous games under Kidd and Kean, one being when Peacock and McAteer literally ran into each other leaving a Liverpool player a free run on goal. Think we lost 1-4 but it should have been 0-8 it just summed up how bad we'd become at that point. Away at Brum a few seasons ago under Mowbray a more disinterested weak effort you are never more likely to see it made Cardiff away look positive. Probably quite a few later in Don Mckays tenure but we were really down to the bare bones so as hard as it was it was understandable. You can swallow it when you know we are actually a poor side from a decimated squad but some of the no shows we've had in recent times are hard to stomach.
