Personally I don't think he did well. To me he showed poor control, unable to complete a pass, a lack of an initial turn of speed, slow to cover back. But for all this , we have to persevere with him and give him a chance. That is Rovers position at the moment, I just hope that it works. Looking on a positive note, at least he is being given a chance in a relatively successful side. I would be worried if we where really struggling and where relying on him.

First game I am going to miss this season as I cannot get time off work. What a ridiculous mid-week fixture. -
The Leeds number 14 was awesome

Why the hatred for the Sun?
-
I think that is meant to be a line-up, in general, not specific to Saturday.

Football rule changes - what would you do?

If you are offside you are penalised irrespective of, if you are interfering with play or not. -
No, but he was one of the worst tacklers ever. Dangerous because he didn't have a clue how to tackle.
-
Tony Mowbray's magic, he wears a magic hat. And when he saw the championship, he said where having that. We used to shout for Shearer and Hendry at the back. Now we shout for Mulgrew, and super Bradley Dack.
-
For the older ones, it is very reminiscent of when Tony Field was here. Picked up reasonably cheap, proved he had fabulous skill, regular goal-scorer, fans cult hero. left for (at the time) a much bigger club. And yet we survived and prospered. Whatever happens it will not be the end of the world.

This maybe off the mark, but I remember us loaning out Simon Garner to Halifax because it seemed like he couldn't score. Give him time.
-
To tell you the truth I think we have had a great start to the season.
-
If we are no good at taking and converting conventional corners, I would suggest we use short corners and try to commit defenders into a position where they are not happy. A few times yesterday from open play promising positions where gained by committing and beating defenders wide on their goal-line. Dack in particular with his quick feet is very good at this.

Well for me the way the statement was phrased, I am positive it was negative.
-
So what ! We also won this week-end. celebrate when given the opportunity.

Some times a floated corner dropping from high at the near post is actually hard to defend as the defender has to generate all the power to get the ball away to a safe distance or position. A good corner is one you score off.
-
You cannot expect to hold a lead for 1 minute, but you can organise to protect your goal for as long as is required. It all depends on how the manager thinks this is best achieved, with what he has got available.
-
Like we did at Stoke where we ended up even luckier to get a win. Team shape and tactics are a balancing act.
-
I thought Bennet got half way from back to front with good possession, then lacked the pace and the application to take on his defender, so invariably turned back or inside to lay the ball off. The amount of times, all the players, turned in-field with the ball then lost it, to put us under pressure was criminal .
-
But that is what being a Rovers fan is all about, even to the point of how we won the premier league, remember Anfield.
-
I am not saying it is a fact, but just the impression I got.
-
I got the impression last night that no one wanted to pass to Brereton, he made loads of runs pointing to where he wanted the ball, only to see it end up with someone else.
-
That was for me the first game this season when we have looked lethargic all over the park, and I include Bristol city away. I found it strange the amount of times, when he came on that Brereton made a run, pointed to where he wanted the ball, only to see it passed somewhere else. I thought eventually he got frustrated and gave up making the runs. It was almost as if the other players where deliberately not passing to him. Anyway onwards and upwards, roll on Saturday.
-
With a bit of luck not scoring was his past, and his future in blue and white, is loads of goals.
-
where is a good place to park up coming from the M61?

You just have to get your head round the fact that TM doesn't like setting a team up with wingers. As he picks the team, it is his prerogative. Don't expect wingers anytime soon, our pressing midfield game does not allow for them.
