  1. Yep was going to say similar Who has worked under Waggott at any point Been out of the game for years, therefore cheap Is desperate, therefore will conform to the party line. Bit like Mowbray when we appointed him albeit Waggott arrived shortly after.
  2. Has Broughton given an appraisal of the transfer window or has that not happened either. Surely even he wouldn't be shameless enough to try and pass that off as a success.
  3. Yes, that's the pity of it - if it happens he won't want to, and shouldn't have to, walk out for nothing. You'd think he'd be able to name his own price for compensation and an NDA with all the shite that's gone down since the financial landscape changed.
  4. The LT website is an extremely strange place. Some outsiders perceive this forum to be extreme that one is equally extreme but at polar opposites. On there JDT is a worst manager/coach in the world who never stops whining, the owners are brilliant and Mowbray is still widely regarded as the Messiah. I'm sure a fair proportion of the posters are Club plants as we undoubtedly get on here at strategic times of year as well.
  5. Not that I recall. Mind you - managers giving press conferences wasn't a thing in the 70's and 80's. Some of Jim Iley's would have been a hoot.
  6. The situation re the finances is moving on all the time and seemingly deteriorating rapidly. He didnt walk and did give them a second chance after "the project changed" and they let him down in summer. Eminently reasonable many might say. Presumably he consented to the sale of the star asset so he could have funds to revamp the squad and it would appear the goal posts have been moved for a second time with no worthehile permanent transfers now allowed. What would your view be IF he makes that walk next week?
  7. With all due respect I can't believe the above post. He told the Club what he wanted in summer didn't get it. Told them what he wanted this window - don't know if he got it or not but I doubt switching from permanent deals to loan deals only was his idea of a good window. You keep going on as if he should stay because of the players that have been signed - maybe he doesn't rate any of them - he keeps getting shite like Telalovic and Ennis foisted on him by Broughton with the incoming this window being questionable at best. Surely you're only going to feel an urge to stay if you've got the players you want. As for it not being new news about Wharton, I'm pretty sure the January Court hearing being postponed and Wharton possibly being sold in lieu of going back in March is a very new development. So I would also have the greatest of respect for him if he did walk out or engineer his exit. Its what you would expect from someone with integrity as opposed to chancers like Waggott and Broughton who will obviously cling onto the gravy train until the last possible moment.
  8. Well there's a surprise - we did say as the Mcguire debacle unfolded that anyone with any integrity should walk after this calamitous window. I said just one would be walking and if rumours are to be believed I might be right. Be the end of the Club if Waggott and Broughton manage to install another "yes man" like Mowbray. The only hope is that we have a coach at all times who challenges the "no pressure on results" mentality and tries to put a bit of pressure on them to achieve.
  9. No and Yes. But we're not likely to be paying the sort of sums quoted anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. Can't believe we didn't offload Gallagher and bring in Mcguire who's 5 or so years younger permanently effectively for free.
  10. Nailed it there in a polite, respectful way I think. Shame J Biz has flounced off in a huff and won't see it.
  11. You sling insults around but didn't or couldn't respond to any of the points I raised I see. Bye.
  12. What an arrogant condescending post. We've just seen our most valuable asset eased out of the Club to keep the lights on until summer to be replaced for three months by a rag tag bunch of assorted loanees. We might just about have enough to survive this season but talk about kicking the can down the road - and for a very short distance. Sorry you dont like the fact posters on here arent happy about that. What do you think we're going to do when that money money runs out, sell Szmodics? Then what? If you can get over your sense of superiority for 5 mins you might care to reflect on the fact that players of the ilk of Jones/ Duff/Wharton only come along every ten years or so and we've just been forced to sell for a relative pittance. The Club is only headed in one direction currently, if you want to bury your head in the sand about that fine. Will we be OK to call you all sorts of names along with being just as "short sighted" as you think we are on here when we drop into League 1 and beyond?
  13. That was then before the Indian Court proceedings and this is now in case you hadn't noticed. I'm sure you have but are on the wind up.
  14. We'd have been a lot better off selling Gallagher and bringing in a striker 5 years younger on a permanent basis at zero net cost or maybe even a small profit after taking account wages.
  15. No but unless he walks tomorrow he is obviously completely happy with the whole thing and complicit in the whole charade. Don't think JDT will be as impressed.
  16. Come off it. GB is absolutely stealing a living. Yes he may have a limited budget, yes he may still be able to sign loanees but he has still delivered another absolutely abysmal with the funds he has. He could literally sign ANYONE no matter how bad or how unsuitable (and is doing) and everyone just blames the owners. Nice work if you can get it. And what are the odds he fucks the Mcguire deal up like he did the O Brien deal just to cap the window off properly?
  17. It's been suggested, and this window has done nothing to dispel that notion, that Wharton has been sold in lieu of having to go back to Court in March and they will only go back when the Wharton money has run out. Seemingly if they request say £11m funding they have to lodge the equivalent amount with the Court as security
  18. I'm actually looking forward to hearing what the smug bastard has to say to try and paint the window in acceptable light. I'm guessing the only thing he can say is to use the classic excuse "January is a notoriously difficult window, we're keeping our powder dry until summer".
  19. I wonder if there's ever been another professional football Club who were that desperate not to pay a transfer fee for a player that they reneged on a permanent deal on ostensibly favourable terms to enter into a loan deal on far worse terms?
  20. "Right then Adam, it's entirely up to you of course but there's a good probability that if we don't sell you this window, the Club will go to the wall".
  21. I succumbed too, it's so ludicrous. 5 hours to go, unless something completely unexpected happens which hasn't previously been mooted anywhere it's impossible to believe JDT will be remotely happy.
  22. Everything seems to come as a surprise to our management. Queries from the EFL (O Brien) Bonus entitlement (Wharton) requirements for overseas transfers (Mcguire)
  23. Maybe but at the very least the others are complicit.
