  1. At least (up to press) Sheff Wed. are losing and Huddersfield only drawing. That might be the only thing which keeps us up at this rate.
  2. Do we scout people? If so, how did we end up with another player not fit enough to play professional football in Ennis?
  3. Well JRC might, Gallagher won't make any difference whatsoever.
  4. Of which Gallagher isn't one. Mental if we've turned down actual cash for him, we ought to be snapping anyone's hand off who were willing to take his wages off the wage bill let alone pay any sort of fee for him
  5. Twenty games to go and a ten point buffer from the relegation zone. Will have to hope that's enough as if we drop into the bottom 3 at any point I don't see this squad having the bottle to get out of it. Could be a close run thing on current form. Can't see anything for us at West Brom so the gap could be shaved a bit more.
  6. Don't worry Parson, Andy obviously has a weird fan boy thing about Wahlstedt given that he refers to him as "Leo" and Pears as "Pears" so he's hardly likely to judge him objectively. I agree with you. We can't go on with the keeper giving 1-2 goals a game away. Pears makes the odd blunder but with nowhere near the same frequency as Wahlstedt. Nothing whatsoever sticks with Wahlstedt the ball's like a bar of soap. He can't even make a simple catch, he always has to pat the ball down.
  7. Was about to point out how many Elliott scored. You know actual goals which people no longer seem to think are important for forward players as long as they run around a bit. Clearly a Brighton fan, or on the wind up, or both.
  8. Thanks. Being allowed so many surely defeats the whole object of the thing.
  9. Can only be a good thing If it means bar of soap hands is a bit nearer to being removed from the fray. I note Ennis is starting , is there no upper age limit for plying for the "under " 21's?
  10. The dissatisfaction around Morton centred around the fact he was keeping Adam Wharton (who imo is an infinitely better player) out of the side. How much further on would Wharton be in his development now if he'd had more gametime last season. Braithwaite WAS crap for us and also managed to get himself ridiculously sent off as well as I recall.
  11. Elliott is a very good player but not elite level imo. Can't see him ever being a regular starter at Liverpool but if he can carve out a lengthy career there as a reliable squad member then I don't suppose he'll be able to ask for much more
  12. If he can't recover from a couple of poor performances he's in the wrong profession. Will this lad from Villa be an automatic starter or a bench warmer? If the latter the whole thing is completely pointless unless the idea is to shift Battys wage off the wage bill and get the PL Club to pay for their man in exchange for game time.
  13. Very good, unlike your man but even he dropped off markedly in the second half of the season.
  14. Aye, his PR/social media skills are finely honed. Not quite as impressive on the pitch, good luck to him thogh - very nice comments..
  15. But the only way forward in the long term is to play our own youngsters for better or worse in the very short term. As Abbey says we gain absolutely nothing from a short term loan of a middling PL youngster apart from denying our own players experience. There will of course be the occasional exception like Elliott but he's been very much the exception rather than the rule.
  16. 100% Also, what's the point in loaning out Batty to bring in another youngster on loan from Villa? It's absolutely mental - play your own players!
  17. Think Nixon flagged it up at weekend. Crewe want the £500 k up front but we want to pay in installments. So as things stand at present unless something changes the deal will fall through despite a lot of initial fanfare about beating off PNE and other Clubs by "triggering" the release clause. Yet another triumph for the DOF and recruitment department. You think we'd have checked Crewe's terms before pressing ahead and wasting everyone's time and effort.
  18. Heart. Nothing wrong with playing for the current Brighton set up though if he makes it. That IS the very top of the game. Why does everyone assume players HAVE to play for City/United/Liverpool Arsenal?
  19. The last paragraph, you know I do, have said so repeatedly. I note both you and Matty have both conveniently ignored that Mowbray by his own admission tried to downplay the owners expectations after promotion from League 1.
  20. Frankly who cares, he isn't our player, we won't see him again after this season and like Morton last season he seems to have clocked off for the season early having decided that our problems aren't his concern.
  21. Did Hill turn out to be a cracking player? I must admit he left me more in the underwhelmed category - certainly no Van Hecke.
  22. I think this is a cracking tie, currently everything you'd want a Club to against currently everything you wouldn't want a Club to be and I have a very bad feeling about it. Just hope JDT can maintain his welcome knack of winning in the Cups.
