  1. The wages issue is reportedly a banking issue whereby the payments are always made but a day or two late. Now I would be skeptical of that and either way it isn't acceptable, but still. That bein said, does that mean that they can not expect a better manager than one that has them sat 23rd after 1 point from 7 games? Your initial complaint was that not enough "loyalty" was shown though, why would that come into the decision? Mowbray would still be here if we decided to be "loyal" to him rather than looking for an upgrade. As I said, turn it round and if Richardson had a better paid job waiting at a higher level, he would not have given it a second thought.
  2. @chaddyrovers in the past you have been staunchly against comparing ticket prices to other clubs because you deemed them to be incomparable, even when they were local clubs such as Preston, whereby the prices are noticeably cheaper and their season ticket sales were massively higher as a result. Now you are comparing to one off comedian tours following a huge period of time without or totally different sports! Also, what is this bollocks about dismissing people because "they haven't done anything about it?!" It isn't down to anyone on here to do anything, there is someone paid £300k a year at the club who has that responsibility. And he has never shown any willingness to listen anyway, even when ticket sales have been consistently piss poor.
  3. I think it is a different situation with Wales who for example compared to England, have a much smaller pool of players and a much bigger reliance on a siege mentality. Had Hedges been included, he would likely have not got close to game time anyway with Gareth Bale, Brennan Johnson, Dan James etc. Gunter and Williams don't play in the same position but their experience of previous successful tournaments could prove invaluable as 25th/26th members of the squad who likely won't kick a ball.
  4. Is this as baseless an accusation as I think, or do you remember any examples of your quite frankly bizarre claim? As pointed out, how can he be so stubborn yet at the same time so willing to change his plans simply because the fans asked for it?! You certainly wouldn't have dreamt of saying anything like this when he was in employment and you was his number 1 fan!
  5. Come on chaddy, you can't be this naive. Loyalty doesn't and shouldn't come into it, decisions should be made based on doing the best for the club from a footballing perspective. Flip it round, would Richardson have turned down the Man City job had he been in employment at Wigan out of loyalty? They clearly are floundering, they have 1 point from their last 7 games and are 2nd bottom, yes they have a limited squad but it isn't hard to see why the club has decided to try and change things, the only curiosity is giving him a new deal. Ferguson would be a shit appointment though, although at one point during the summer when rumours wrongly had him assumed as the next Rovers manager, you were supportive of the idea. Surely you as a result think he would be a good appointment for Wigan too?
  6. None of that means that he shouldn't be sacked if he is deemed not to be the best bet to keep them up, and they are doing poorly.
  7. Why would Wigan keep Richardson out of "loyalty?" They should be deciding purely on the best man for the job and Wigan have lost so much so a change is understandable, why they gave him a new deal prior is the strange bit.
  8. He seemingly is not suited to playing deep, he dawdles on the ball and doesn't move it quickly enough. Maybe more suited to playing where Szmodics does.
  9. Glad we have made changes, although Brereton shouldn't have travelled.
  10. He might be one of our highest earners, but even if he is, it doesn't mean that his wage was doubled.
  11. Dack also got a new deal after we regained Championship status. Talk of doubling his wage is purely speculative.
  12. I think you are just being obtuse. Has anyone said that Tomasson is not doing a good job in general? People are specifically mentioning how he has been used (ie barely) when we have conceded and always lost, a very specific weakness in our first 20 games.
  13. No one has ever had a debate with Jon Dahl Tomasson on here!
  14. Undr the cosh has also had David Thompson and Michael Gray. I think the Scottish one you refer too is Open Goal. Has had Damien Duff and Barry Ferguson on.
  15. Maddison has skills and trickery but some end product too, plenty of it. Do we need 3 central strikers (one has barely played) as well as Rashford?
  16. Did anyone said that the result was unimpressive? (They are still bottom, and a home game against bottom is as easy as you can get, but no one complained that we won, just about aspects of the performance)
  17. And as well as we have done in general, we have lost all 8 games that we have conceded the first goal in, hence why there is a very valid suggestion that on those occasions, that Tomasson isn't doing the right things. Because the answer is every manager, therefore the point was totally irrelevant.
  18. Didnt you say that you wouldnt take Maguire the other day? Mount is ok and I would certainly take him but we have 2 top class attacking players in Saka and in particular Foden. Maddison is also as productive an English attacking midfielder as you will find, for him to miss out on your squad with Grealish and Calvert Lewin amongst those preferred in attacking areas, an average and out of form Ward Prowse and 4 right backs (if you include White) seems strange to me.
  19. How do you know that he had his salary doubled? I am not arguing for the sake of it, but I am not having that the club gave him a deal due to loyalty. At that point in time, he was recovering from injury but was on the cusp of first team football but had 6 months (18 including an option) which would have meant that assuming he did recover, that a fantastic player at this level would potentially leave for free as soon as he got fit. It was a calculated gamble that somewhat backfired when he then did his other knee. He doesn't owe us anything and we don't owe him anything.
  20. How do we know it was "much improved?" And it wasnt particularly long either. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement that protected both parties, not a gesture of loyalty.
  21. People keep going on about Dack apparently. It would be interesting to see whic poster had posted the most in discussions about him...
  22. I am not sure that either party specifically has been "incredibly loyal" to the other, everything has always been done with both sides acting in their best interests. We wanted to tie Dack down to get benefit out of him for a while prior to the expiry of his contract, unaware of the second injury to come.
  23. We have 2 very capable full/wing backs, both of whom impressed at the weekend, how about playing them in their correct positions? Dropping Pickering who should have been man of the match to then play Brittain there who had a shocker at Coventry playing on his wrong side, to then play Hedges who perhaps in easier home games can drift and have a free role with Carter filling in as a right back at times, it just all makes no sense. I think Kaminski, Brittain, Ayala, Hyam, Pickering, Travis, Morton, Brereton and Gallagher all pick themselves. You then build around that, do you go with a back 3 with S Wharton and if so, do you play Hedges, Szmodics or Adam Wharton? Kaminski Hyam Ayala Wharton Brittain Morton Travis Pickering Hedges Gallagher Brereton Subs: Pears, Dack, Szmodics, Markanday, Carter, A Wharton, Buckley Focus on getting loads of height around their keeper at set pieces.
