  1. I have to add my vote to Tugay's performance. Then only man on then pitch with any vision.
  2. I'm afraid remarks like that beggar believe. And there was Theodrog musing recently on how we can get more Asian fans to Ewood. Acting like it's the C21st rather than the C19th might be a start.
  3. It's galling when you shell out a lot of money and see poor performances. But looking at the season as a whole, we are still doing better than we could have hoped in August, or November for that matter. All mid table teams ahve good and bad runs - it's our turn for the results to go agaisnt us. Afterall it's only a bloody game.
  4. My experience away at United I'm afraid. A bunch of low life scum.
  5. Time to amend you're daft message son? And an apology to Michael Gray?
  6. Incredible. As for Ferdinand, I was gob-smacked by his behaviour. The lad was getting as much abuse by the Rovers' crowd as I can remember. It felt like bullying. However I joined in long and loud. What I did find bizarre was his return to the pitch before the second half started. He ran round the perimeter of the pitch sticking his chin out, grabbing the United crest on his shirt. It was like a ten year old, rather than a top pro on £110k per week. I've never seen anything like it. I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. The best game I've seen in over 30 years following t'Rovers.
  7. Neil, I work in city-centre Manchester and live in Chorlton, South Manchester - a twenty minute walk to OT. Getting a tram to and from the ground from the city-centre can be very very difficult, especially for an evening game. I have to leave work an hour earlier than usual to have any chance of getting home on match days. One option is to get the Eccles line tram and get off at one of the Salford Quays stations, therefore avoiding the busier Altrincham line.
  8. Jim, Your best choice of parking is dependent on where your nursing home is.
  9. For me the next level is having a team which is expected to finish in the top half of the league each season - and not to be banded in with the usual suspects at the foot of the table.
  10. Times report here which is kind to the Rovers. This week's good luck makes up for last week's bad luck.
  11. I understand the frustration of those who are calling for more investment in players, but with our decreasing crowds and the lack of a sugar daddy, where are these millions to come from? I can't pretend to understand the finances of the club, but we must be losing a lot of money at the moment. Gambling with the club's finances could mean meltdown if we were to be relegated in the next couple of seasons. The lower leagues are littered with clubs, a lot bigger than the Rovers, who were reckless, and who are now in real trouble.
  12. Tugay on at half time or close after would have made sense - with hingsight. But the real porblem was turning possessionj, in the last third, into goals. We had enough chances and good situations to have won easily. As for Bolton. Dear oh dear what a disgrace. And then Allardyce has the cheek to criticise Riley. After last year's justificationm of the Diouf dive "Big Sam" has swown himself to be a man with no class.
  13. United are a team of great individuals not a great team on this showing. We looked tired and nervy second half, with Tugay and Savage unable to compete with a younger, stronger midfield pairing. I think Reid on earlier could changed things. And Dickov on could have closed down United more effectively at the back. A 25% chance of success in my book.
  14. We had as many clear cut chances second half as Pompey. We have to expect periods of being on the back foot. You'd think we'd lost listening to RevBlue and some of the other professional pessimists.
  15. There was a small group of young men, to out left, who sang it once or twice as far as I could tell.
  16. For some reason today felt a bit like the old days- the 90s, not the 70s or 80s. Tough, professional football, a great following and a real sense of good days ahead. I wasn't too pleased with some of the showboating late on when we could have gone on to score more goals. No complaints though - the white burgundy is slipping down just fine. Happy NEw Year. Ps The small knott of Wigan youth to our left did their club no favours with their "Town full of Pakis" chant.
  17. To all the doom mongers: Moyes' assessment of the Rovers. "Outside the top three or four, Blackburn are playing as well as anyone in the Premiership and they gave us a hard time for the first 15 or 20 minutes,'' Moyes admitted.
  18. Paul, you're wrong about the handball decision being the right one. The rules state that the handball has to be intentional. Hanson was right, for once. Notice that Rover6 is giving his expert view, given he hasn't seen the game. I think Bentley did really well in the first half and was involved in some really super forward play. we didn't win because we didn't take out chances, defended poorly twice - did Everton have another chance? - and were reduced to ten men by a stupid, stupid decision by the officials. I echo Gav's view on the massive strides we've taken. A beautiful swan emerging from an ugly duckling.
  19. Hughes got it right for me, bar Todd making the cut instead of Zurab. It was closer to a 442 than a 451. Bentley played well untilhe faded in the last quarter of the game. Thompson diodn't play well at all. I think Reid was decent too. What undid us was bad finishing and bad refereeing. Even with ten men we out passed, out thought and out fought a woeful Everton team.
  20. Congratulations on the launch: it's about time a club of Rovers' stature had an independent voice for its fans. Good luck.
  21. When Tugay is given time and space to play, the Rovers look at their best. The problem is that most teams close him down because given a chance he dictates the tempo of a game. Against Southamption and Norwich he was superb, as someome else said, worth the entry fee alone. He's nothing like Berkovic who plays 25 yards futher up the pitch.
  22. Thanks for the insight Rover6. And there was me thinking we needed a goalkeeper.
