  1. You say this every year, so I suspect you’ll be right eventually......
  2. And if he has to sell those two, the money he has spent on Gallagher and Brereton had better start bearing fruit, as they probably won’t fetch fees well in excess of their purchase price....
  3. It’s why many people were getting frustrated at the prospect of a ‘slow build’ as we could see this was coming....
  4. As a neutral, I’d want to see the best players on the pitch at the same time. It just so happens they all play for PSG and Bayern, so that’s the final right there that I’d want!
  5. Gallagher and Brereton had better get really good really fast then....
  6. I love it when people go OTT in their perception of what constitutes OTT criticism. Examples or it never happened.....
  7. This is the nail on the head and certainly something I’d be willing to fork out for. Think of it as me at my most philanthropic. Still baffles me that Rovers have the opportunity to get cash in from fans and they’re sitting on their hands.
  8. Yet when fans said that on here, you advised people ‘Mowbray has his way of playing and we should accept it’....
  9. Literally nobody has said that. People wanted Walton to be able to catch a ball, imagine that. The only references to our old goalkeepers that I can recall are people being nostalgic....
  10. It’s pretty gut wrenching if we weren’t even in for Marshall and he goes elsewhere. Exactly what we need. I’m not confident we will find a more suitable keeper for this level....
  11. I can’t go to the games, I can’t drink cheap Heineken in the Working Men’s before hand either, so I’m really indifferent towards it so far.... Even if we had a few signings, a new kit, season tickets on sale- I would still be the same. COVID has sapped my enthusiasm for a lot of things that we have to have ‘diet’ versions of.
  12. I barely even class him as a footballer, never mind a right back!
  13. Would definitely be happy with Chris Martin tbh.
  14. This comes up now and again about Andrews giving his best. I think people are re writing history and I say this every time. I can legitimately remember him ducking out of at least one challenge that lead to a goal (Chelsea at home). If we were in the PL now, Corry Evans would probably look the same. He was playing a long way above his ability, that is true and it isn’t his fault he was picked, he really wasn’t the grafter that people keep suggesting. He was absolutely shite.
  15. Would have helped if you’d read the article, for some context instead. In fact just the headline would have been beneficial, but here you go- ‘Wigan's former owner Kay asked about administration before his takeover’. Why on earth would that not lead to the EFL smelling a rat?!
  16. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/aug/16/wigans-former-owner-kay-asked-about-administration-before-his-takeover?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other The EFL have some serious questions to answer. Will they have to? Probs not.
  17. In fairness, the same people that complain about FFP, usually conveniently overlook how much we spent on our strikers that don’t score £12 Million worth of goals.
  18. Had my first round this week. Went round Stonyhurst with my old man. My chipping is not something I need to work on, but my driving and putting definitely is! My old man was hyped and gave me a shoulder tap after I chipped onto the green from miles away on the last hole then sank the resulting putt. We don’t need to talk about how many shots it took to reach that position though!! Been at the driving range a couple of times since and had more joy with the drives. Had much more luck with the hybrid, but practice makes perfect as they say! I’m obviously not expecting perfection, but certainly steady improvement!
  19. Barcelona though, what a shambles they are at the moment. Was reading before about a load of their directors resigning too. They’ve squandered loads of money on big money signings that haven’t delivered/been badly managed or injured a lot. The obvious alarm bell for me was when they sold a young lad in Arthur to Juventus in a swap deal for Pjanic who’s 30 years old! There’s too much focus and reliance on Messi and while he’s obviously outstanding, he needs more support. Couldn’t help but have a bit of a snigger at Coutinho coming off the bench and bagging two for Bayern against his parent club....
  20. The transfer thread always brings out the worst in people, that’s just how it always seems to be on here. Reporting posts notifies all the mods directly, so it’s a good system. It beats replying to someone being a whopper, which then takes the thread off topic and ends up being a full on row about what one person has said, instead of the subject matter before we know it. This is frustrating for everyone and we want to reduce the frustration everyone experiences. It shouldn’t annoy anyone to come on here, it should be something we all enjoy. With the amount of time I spend on here personally, you’d think it was my favourite hobby! Ultimately, the take away from this should be- if something needs to be reported, report it and just keep scrolling....
