  1. I think the shambles of the situation in losing three players for nothing can be summed up quite easily. Rothwell- he was always going to go, so I’m a bit easier with that one, but it’s incompetence of the highest order to turn down a £3 Million bid from the club the player ultimately ends up at anyway, then lose them for free! Lenihan- if we didn’t have Ayala on the books, would we have been able to afford to keep him? I think it’s a point worth considering, especially given we signed Ayala to a decent contract, knowing his wretched injury record. Nyambe- a bit of a strange one in all honesty. I thought with a change of manager, he may stay, so I suppose this puts to bed the argument he wanted out because of Mowbray. He was good for us defensively, but attacking wise, offered very little if we’re being completely true with ourselves. In all fairness though, if someone gets the opportunity to earn more money elsewhere to do the same job, in what they perceive to be better conditions, then I’d certainly jump ship and I imagine the rest of us would too. That’s why I always find it a bit strange that fans hold footballers to a different standard.
  2. @longsiders1882 We usually give clubs that can fill it, the entire Darwen End. Not doubting your ability to fill it, more the plod’s willingness to allow that! Think you had 5.5k of around 8k last time.
  3. It’s the most frustrating thing about Lenihan leaving for me. If Ayala was ever available for selection, it wouldn’t be as much of a loss, but he never is and he’s on a good wedge. So we’re paying someone to not play, meaning we can’t re sign our captain on a deal he deserves after many years of service. This isn’t hindsight about Ayala’s injury record too, he’s been like that for years. No matter his obvious talent that he teases us with for about ten games a season, his pretty much total lack of availability since signing means it’s been a terrible signing overall.
  4. Whilst Kalvin Phillips was injured for a lot of last season, Declan Rice is definitely superior to him. Though I imagine, apart from money, he’s probably thinking of how other players have improved under Guardiola and probably ‘I want a bit of that’. Though, he’s obviously a fair way to go to be anywhere approaching Rodri’s level.
  5. Hi All, I know we have strong opinions on our views, but we need to be aiming better than ‘you’re talking rubbish’ (end) and ‘if you don’t agree with my view, you need to give your head a wobble’. There’s a section of the forum you can talk to people like that in, but it isn’t this one 👍.
  6. Barcelona would be paying nearly all of his wages to facilitate that. Cannot see that happening at all with their money troubles….
  7. Parents went to watch Lancs and it was rained off after two hours of being there. They’ve had a shocker as they were waiting on the motorway in traffic for two hours the day before, coming back from Devon…
  8. It’s usually 2400 for us, or at least it has been the times I’ve been there. Need to get some away games in before it to be sure of a ticket!
  9. Most likely, they do tend to be! Mate in a Rovers group chat reckons our league meeting in 2015 where Lawrence missed that sitter was on a Saturday though? (Not bothered to check like….)
  10. I hope the Burnley game on 12th is November is going to be moved, as it just means my Mum isn’t having a birthday this year otherwise and that would be a shame for her….
  11. As I understand it, the fans were planning to go to his house, but met in the pub nearby first. Arnold got wind of that and went down to buy them a drink and talk. Where I think it’s fallen down is the fan secretly filming him, then sharing it online. Otherwise, it would have been a decent thing all around…
  12. Got a meeting in a few weeks and it will be brought up, I imagine!
  13. I renewed my season ticket, it was always going to happen for me, though I note that I pay it via direct debit and it’s over 8 months this time, so £57 per month vs £46 a month last year, when it was over 10 months. 🤷‍♂️.
  14. I enjoyed it, but then I always enjoy watching my team win! Season tickets under Sam were great value for money! It obviously wasn’t perfect and some away performances and results were absolutely dire, but he had us punching above our weight!
  15. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/20211006.blackburn-rovers-ex-player-danny-guthrie-declares-bankruptcy/ Bankrupt….
  16. Of course I have. But from a message board harmony point of view, it’s counter productive to have people saying ‘things are better’, but then never expanding on why. If things are getting better, I’m here for it, believe me! But sometimes, when we get people saying ‘you’re talking rubbish’. Then they never explain why, it can be very frustrating to read the same things over and over again. Not after chapter and verse- but a simple ‘things are better, x is in the pipeline’, you’ll love what is going on behind the scenes etc’.
  17. You’re more than welcome to post here, it just seems odd that you wouldn’t just explain why people are wrong and you’re right.
  18. How has it changed then? How have they wised up? I don’t need to know who has told you what, but just an initiative in place to prove your point. We aren’t having any more of this ‘things are better but I’m telling you nothing stuff’ again. It’s tiresome and akin to trolling.
  19. I think we need to aim to do better than telling people they’re moaning and to watch other clubs. There’s this thing called ‘empathy’…
  20. Just in case anyone is unfamiliar- you can slag off political parties you don’t like on here to your hearts content, just not in the football section.
  21. In terms of OGs, this is one I always remember. Gazza vs Scotland but in reverse…
  22. Under Allardyce, the football could have been better, but the results overall more than made up for it. It was blatantly obvious that he was the main reason we were able to punch above our weight.
  23. Laurence Bassini. The top tier blagger that he is. How on earth is he passing any test?!
